The “Tip Toein’ in My Jordans” Rumpelstiltskin clip is an AI-generated fantasy-film pastiche, not a scene from the 1987 Rumpelstiltskin movie or another identified old film. Its deliberately vintage, realistic look seems to be part of why some viewers went searching for a source movie. The recognizable meme took shape when the clip was paired with Riff Raff’s “Tip Toe Wing In My Jawwdinz” and a caption about dollar-store melatonin.
Where does the Rumpelstiltskin video come from?
Know Your Meme traces the base clip to August 27, 2026, when accounts associated with Stroinaya, Neuroferma, and Anna Glinskaya posted it. NBC News also identifies Tatyana Tereshchenko, whose Instagram handle is @stroinaya, as the original poster. The clip depicts a small Rumpelstiltskin-like figure dancing for a woman in a barn, turning straw into gold, and becoming a prince after she kisses him. It borrows from the fairy tale without following it exactly.
The video is styled like an old fantasy movie, but the available reporting does not identify it as footage from a particular earlier production. Its resemblance to vintage film imagery prompted some viewers to ask whether it came from the 1987 Rumpelstiltskin film.
Is the Rumpelstiltskin video AI?
Yes. The clip is described by NBC News and Know Your Meme as AI-generated. It is a fantasy-film pastiche, not evidence that Rumpelstiltskin—or any of the characters inserted into later edits—appeared in real movie footage.
#1 Best Overall
- Style: CK6636-006
- A visible Max Air unit provides lightweight impact cushioning and under-heel comfort.
- Rubber outsole with a herringbone pattern provides traction.
- Rubber outsole
- Leather, synthetic leather and textile materials on the upper
The scene’s realistic, aged-film appearance is a likely contributor to its uncanny effect and to viewers’ confusion about its origin. The reporting documents that confusion, but does not establish one measured psychological reason people found the clip unsettling.

Late September: the song and caption catch on
In late September, TikToker @6aimbot9 paired the video with Riff Raff’s “Tip Toe Wing In My Jawwdinz” and the caption: “The type of dreams I be having after taking dollar store melatonin.” That combination helped establish the format commonly called “Tip Toein’ in My Jordans.”
October: edits and reactions circulate
By early October 2026, the meme had spread across TikTok, X, and Instagram Reels. People used it as a captioned reaction to foolish dancing, distraction, or an unusually strange response to a situation. Other edits replaced Rumpelstiltskin with fictional characters or public figures.

What the meme format communicates
The dancing figure works as a reaction image or video for moments that feel bizarre, distracting, or out of place. In character-replacement edits, the substituted character changes the joke; it does not mean that character was in the original AI clip. One poster’s reaction, reproduced by Know Your Meme, was: “this little weirdo lives in my head now.”
