Apple added eight emoji in iOS 18.4, not iOS 18.4.1. The later 18.4.1 update is described by Apple as a maintenance release with bug fixes and security updates; it does not announce new emoji. Here is the complete list Apple says is available in the iOS 18.4 emoji keyboard.
Full list of new iOS 18.4 emoji
| Emoji | Unicode short name |
|---|---|
| | Face with Bags Under Eyes |
| | Fingerprint |
| | Leafless Tree |
| | Root Vegetable |
| | Harp |
| | Shovel |
| | Splatter |
| 🇨🇶 | Flag: Sark |
These are the Unicode short names listed in the Unicode Consortium’s Emoji 16.0 chart. Apple describes the additions as “8 new emoji including objects, plants and a smiley face” available in the emoji keyboard.
Why Apple counts eight while Unicode lists seven characters
Unicode’s Emoji 16.0 chart distinguishes seven new emoji characters from the flag of Sark sequence. Apple’s release notes count that flag sequence among the eight additions, which explains the difference in how the totals are presented.

Where to find them
Apple says the additions are available in the emoji keyboard in iOS 18.4. That release note establishes keyboard availability for iOS 18.4; it does not establish support across every device, app, or older operating-system version. The names identify each emoji, but they do not prescribe a single meaning for how people use them.
