The best AirPods alternative depends on your phone and priorities: choose Sony for a premium all-rounder, Bose for noise cancellation and fit options, Galaxy Buds4 Pro for a Samsung phone, CMF for a lower-cost pick, Nothing Ear for sound customization, or Beats Fit Pro for workouts. If you want batteries that can be replaced, consider the Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless 5. These are use-case recommendations, not a single universal ranking; fit, platform features, and price can change which pair suits you.

Which AirPods alternative should you choose?

Sony WF-1000XM6: best premium all-round alternative

Sony is the most flexible premium pick here if you want a feature-rich pair that works with either Android or iOS. TechRepublic highlights its ANC, long measured battery life, LDAC support, and multipoint connectivity. TechRepublic reports SoundGuys’ 2026 independent test result of 88% average noise reduction. That figure describes a test, not the result every listener will get: fit and seal affect noise reduction.

Bose QuietComfort Ultra Earbuds (2nd Gen): best for ANC and fit choice

Bose is worth considering if noise cancellation and the ability to adjust fit are priorities. The model offers three ear-tip sizes and three stability-band sizes, creating nine possible combinations. TechRepublic reports SoundGuys’ 2026 average noise-reduction result of 85%. Tom’s Guide also identifies ANC as a strength while noting shorter battery life than some rivals.

Samsung Galaxy Buds4 Pro: best for Samsung Galaxy owners

Galaxy Buds4 Pro make the most sense when you use a compatible Samsung Galaxy device and want its device-specific audio, AI, and integration features. TechRepublic reports SoundGuys’ 2026 average noise-reduction result of 84%, along with six hours of tested battery life. Some features depend on a compatible Galaxy device, so check feature compatibility before choosing them for a different Android phone or an iPhone.

CMF Buds 2 Plus: best budget pick

CMF Buds 2 Plus is the lower-cost choice in this shortlist. TechRepublic reports SoundGuys’ 2026 average noise-reduction result of 83%. SoundGuys describes ANC, LDAC, IP55 water resistance, dual-device pairing, and more than ten hours per charge in its testing. Battery results vary with settings and test conditions; that figure should not be treated as a controlled comparison with the other models.

Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless 5: best for replaceable batteries

The main reason to consider the Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless 5 is longevity: TechRepublic identifies user-replaceable batteries in both the earbuds and charging case as the model’s differentiator. That feature may matter more to someone who wants to keep earbuds in service longer than an incremental sound or ANC advantage. Confirm the model name and availability in your region before buying.

Nothing Ear: best for sound customization at a lower price

Nothing Ear combines LDAC and LHDC codec support with an advanced equalizer, comfort, and app availability on iOS and Android, according to SoundGuys. That makes it a strong option if you like shaping your sound rather than relying on a fixed tuning. The codecs are useful only when the source device and settings support them. SoundGuys lists a $129 MSRP and displayed a $69 Amazon offer when its page was reviewed; neither figure guarantees today’s selling price.

Beats Fit Pro: best workout-oriented alternative

Beats Fit Pro’s stabilizing wing design, several ear-tip options, and fit test make it a practical workout candidate. SoundGuys also highlights ANC and support for both iOS and Android, but notes that some features are iPhone-specific and Android users miss some features. Its listed MSRP is $199.95; the $124.99 Amazon offer shown by SoundGuys is a time-sensitive price check, not a standing price.

How to compare AirPods alternatives

Start with your phone

  • Samsung Galaxy: Galaxy Buds4 Pro are the clearest ecosystem match, but some capabilities require a compatible Galaxy device.
  • Android or iPhone: Sony and Nothing are described as cross-platform options. Beats Fit Pro also works with both, though features differ by platform.

Read ANC numbers as test results, not promises

TechRepublic attributes these 2026 average noise-reduction measurements to SoundGuys’ independent testing: Sony WF-1000XM6, 88%; Bose QuietComfort Ultra Earbuds (2nd Gen), 85%; Galaxy Buds4 Pro, 84%; and CMF Buds 2 Plus, 83%. They offer a useful point of comparison, but results depend on testing method and earbud fit; a poor seal can reduce noise cancellation for an individual listener.

Match fit to how you will wear them

Ear shape and seal influence both comfort and ANC. Bose provides multiple tip and stability-band combinations, while Beats uses stabilizing wings to help keep the earbuds in place. Sony may feel different from AirPods, so fit is personal rather than a spec you can settle from a product listing. Where available, check the seller’s return policy before committing.

Compare battery figures only with their conditions attached

Battery claims may be manufacturer ratings or independent test results, and ANC use and other settings can change runtime. TechRepublic cautions that its battery conditions differ between products, so the reported results do not create a controlled battery-life ranking. SoundGuys’ more-than-ten-hours result for CMF Buds 2 Plus is a test finding, not a guarantee under every setting.

Check codec and sound-control compatibility

Sony and CMF support LDAC; Nothing Ear supports LDAC and LHDC and includes an advanced equalizer. Codec support does not guarantee that a codec will be active: the source phone, audio settings, and other device requirements matter. If you want to adjust sound, check the relevant app and feature support for your operating system.

Recheck prices and regional availability

The dated TechRepublic prices are US checks from September 25, 2026. SoundGuys’ Nothing and Beats retailer offers are also time-sensitive. Treat both as reference points, then verify the current price, exact model, and availability where you live.

Product prices and availability are accurate as of the date/time indicated and are subject to change. Any price and availability information displayed on Amazon at the time of purchase will apply.
