We can’t verify a top-five ranking of Garmin watches bought by iTechGuides readers from the public information available. That ranking requires dated purchase records from our own commerce or affiliate reporting; marketplace estimates and editorial picks measure something different. Here’s what those sources can establish, and how to choose a Garmin watch while a reader-purchase list remains unverified.
Can we name the five Garmin watches our readers bought most?
Not responsibly without our own transaction data. A reader-bestseller list should be calculated from the publisher’s dated commerce records, with the period and counting method made clear. The records must also account for cancellations and returns and specify whether different versions of the same model are grouped together. Public rankings, reviews and marketplace estimates cannot establish what this site’s readers purchased.
That distinction matters for this title: no verified iTechGuides figure identifies its five most-purchased Garmin models for the year. Assigning ranks from another source would answer a different question, so no five-model reader ranking is presented here.
What Amazon estimates say—and what they don’t
ASINsight’s June 2026 report estimated monthly sales for selected listings in Amazon’s US “garmin watch” results. Its leading listings were the Forerunner 165 at 6,000 estimated monthly units, the vívoactive 5 at 5,000, and the Forerunner 55 at 3,000. The report also estimated 2,000 monthly units for an Instinct 3 listing and 1,000 for a Forerunner 265 listing. These are third-party estimates for tracked listings, not verified sales across all retailers and not purchases by iTechGuides readers. ASINsight’s June 2026 marketplace report

- Get a sleep score and personalized sleep coaching for how much sleep you need — and get tips on how to improve plus key metrics such as HRV status to better understand your health (data presented is intended to be a close estimation of metrics tracked)
- Find new ways to keep your body moving with more than 30 built-in indoor and GPS sports apps, including walking, running, cycling, HIIT, swimming, golf and more
- Wheelchair mode tracks pushes — rather than steps — and includes push and handcycle activities with preloaded workouts for strength, cardio, HIIT, Pilates and yoga, challenges specific to wheelchair users and more (data presented is intended to be a close estimation of metrics tracked)
Those estimates can provide marketplace context, but they should not be relabeled as a publisher bestseller ranking. Likewise, Garmin’s report of a 42% year-over-year increase in fitness-segment revenue in its fourth quarter of 2025 describes a business segment, not sales of any particular watch. The quarter ended December 27, 2025; Garmin said the increase was primarily due to strong wearable demand, market-share gains and market growth. Garmin’s FY2025 fourth-quarter results
How to choose a Garmin watch
Garmin’s product families are aimed at different kinds of use: Forerunner focuses on running; Venu and vívoactive serve health and fitness needs; and fēnix and Instinct target rugged outdoor activity. Garmin’s current US category page shows products from these families, but does not publish a sales ranking. Check the official category and the individual model page for current features. - Designed with a bright, colorful AMOLED display, get a more complete picture of your health, thanks to battery life of up to 11 days in smartwatch mode

Start with your main activity
- Running and structured training: Start with Forerunner models, then compare the training features that matter to you rather than assuming a higher-numbered model is automatically the right fit.
- Everyday health and fitness: Compare Venu and vívoactive models for the display, wellness features and smartwatch functions you want.
- Outdoor use: Consider Instinct or fēnix, and check the exact version for navigation tools, display type and rugged-use features.
Check fit, controls and display
Compare case size and wrist comfort before buying. Decide whether you prefer touchscreen interaction, physical buttons or a combination, and whether an AMOLED display or a memory-in-pixel (MIP) screen better suits your use. Solar display versions are a separate consideration where offered. These features vary by model and version, so verify the specifications for the exact watch you are considering.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems2Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute3Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsRead battery claims by mode
Battery-life figures depend on the model and how it is used. Check the manufacturer’s estimate for the relevant mode—such as smartwatch use or GPS activity—instead of treating one maximum figure as a guarantee for everyday use. Display settings, sensors and activity tracking can affect runtime.

Buy navigation features you will use
“Outdoor watch” does not mean every model has the same maps or navigation. Confirm whether your intended use calls for maps, route guidance or other navigation functions. For example, TechRadar’s September 2026 buying guide says Instinct 3 has no touchscreen or topo maps; that is a distinction to check against your needs, not a reason to rule out every Instinct version for every outdoor activity. TechRadar’s September 2026 Garmin buying guide
Compare current price and exact version
Prices and specifications can change. TechRadar’s September 2026 guide listed Venu 4 at $549.99 in 41 mm and 45 mm options, and vívoactive 6 at $299.99 in a 42 mm option. Those are guide-listed prices, not a guarantee of today’s price or a universal regional price. Its guide also describes Instinct 3 as available with AMOLED or MIP Solar display options; features differ by version. What current recommendations can tell you
Recommendations are useful for matching a watch to a need, but they are not purchase records. TechRadar’s September 2026 guide calls Venu 4 its best Garmin overall, assigns vívoactive 6 its budget-watch category and presents Instinct 3 as an outdoor sports option. Those are the guide’s editorial judgments, not a ranking of iTechGuides reader purchases or of Garmin’s total sales. Garmin’s live category page is also a product directory, not a popularity chart. For a practical decision, match your primary activity and budget first, then rule out watches that miss a must-have feature or do not fit comfortably. Compare the remaining models on controls, display, battery in the modes you use and navigation needs. A single “best” Garmin is less useful than the best fit for your actual routine.
