Tesla documents support for Bluetooth Classic gaming controllers and USB-compatible controllers in select Arcade games on Model S, Model 3, Model X, Model Y, and Cybertruck. Its manuals do not confirm specific controller brands or models, so check for Bluetooth Classic support and consult the owner’s manual for your vehicle before buying or plugging in a controller.
Which controller connection types does Tesla support?
Bluetooth Classic
Bluetooth Classic is the clearest documented option. Tesla says to pair a controller using the same process used to pair a phone; once paired, it connects automatically and can be used with select games. The guidance appears in the manuals for Model S, Model 3, Model X, Model Y, and Cybertruck. See the Cybertruck manual, Model S manual, Model X manual, Model 3 manual, and Model Y manual.
USB-compatible controllers
Tesla manuals also describe connecting USB-compatible controllers. Whether a particular USB port can carry controller data depends on the vehicle and its manufacture date; a port that charges a device may not support a controller. Check the manual for the exact model and vehicle before choosing a port.

Tesla’s cited manual passages do not name a tested controller brand or model. That means a particular Xbox, PlayStation, or other console controller should not be treated as confirmed compatible based on those passages alone. For a Bluetooth controller, verify that it supports Bluetooth Classic, then confirm pairing and game support in your vehicle. Tesla describes compatibility with “select games,” not every Arcade title.

How to connect a game controller
Pair over Bluetooth
- Open the vehicle’s Bluetooth pairing flow—the same flow used to pair a phone, as described in the relevant Tesla owner manual.
- Put the controller into its Bluetooth pairing mode and add it as a Bluetooth Classic device.
- After pairing, let the vehicle reconnect to the controller, then try it in a game that supports controllers.
Tesla does not provide a separate, brand-specific setup sequence in the cited passages.
Connect by USB
- Find the owner manual for your exact Tesla model and check its Arcade controller instructions and USB-port guidance.
- Use a port the manual identifies as suitable for a USB-compatible controller. Do not assume a center-console or front USB port supports data.
- If the controller is not recognized, try the port specified in the manual and confirm that the controller is USB-compatible.
For several vehicles, Tesla distinguishes vehicles made before and after approximately November 1, 2021; later vehicles may need the glovebox USB port. The Model Y manual also says that on some vehicles made after approximately that date, center-console USB ports can only charge devices. These are model- and vehicle-dependent details, so use the matching manual rather than applying the date rule across all Teslas.

How many Bluetooth controllers can connect at once?
The relevant Tesla manuals say the vehicle supports up to two Bluetooth devices at a time, with two controllers or a phone and controller given as examples. This is a vehicle Bluetooth-device limit, not a promise that every game accepts two controllers; the manuals describe use with select games.
When can you use Arcade?
Tesla’s Cybertruck manual says to use Arcade and Toybox features only while parked. Entertainment options can also vary by market, manufacture date, and vehicle configuration. Check the owner manual and available features for your specific vehicle.
