The name “Tenstorrent’s Liquid-Cooled AI PC Runs Fast and Quiet” refers to the original TT-QuietBox, described in a February 17, 2026 Electronic Design article as a workstation with four Blackhole p150c accelerator boards. It is distinct from Tenstorrent’s newer TT-QuietBox 2. The liquid-cooling and quiet-operation claims are qualitative: the sources provide no measured noise level. [Electronic Design]
Which Tenstorrent QuietBox does the title describe?
William G. Wong’s Electronic Design article, published February 17, 2026, describes the original TT-QuietBox with four Blackhole p150c Tensix processor boards. Tenstorrent’s current product page is for TT-QuietBox 2, a different configuration. Keep the generations separate: QuietBox 2’s product-family heading says it is powered by two Blackhole p300c, while its detailed description says it combines four Blackhole Tensix processors with an AMD Ryzen CPU. The page does not reconcile those descriptions or provide enough detail to infer the exact board configuration. [Electronic Design] [Tenstorrent TT-QuietBox page]

What are the original TT-QuietBox’s reported specifications?
Electronic Design describes the original workstation as built around an ASRock Rack SIENAD8-2L2T motherboard and a 3-GHz AMD EPYC processor. It reports four Blackhole p150c boards, each with 120 Tensix cores and 16 RISC-V cores. That gives the system 480 Tensix cores across the four boards. The article also notes QSFP-DD 800G ports. [Electronic Design]
The article lists 512 GB of DDR5-4800 ECC RDIMM memory, arranged as eight 64-GB modules, and a 4-TB NVMe PCIe 4.0 x4 drive. For expansion and connectivity, it reports two M.2 PCIe Gen 5 x4 slots, four PCIe Gen 8 x8/x16 slots, two 10G Ethernet ports, and two 1G Ethernet ports. These are specifications reported for the original configuration, not QuietBox 2. [Electronic Design]

Operating system and software
Electronic Design reports Ubuntu 22.04 and compatibility with TensorFlow, JAX, and PyTorch through Tenstorrent’s TT-Forge compiler. This describes the original system as covered in that February 2026 article; it is not a current, comprehensive supported-model or software-version matrix for QuietBox 2. [Electronic Design]
Tenstorrent positions QuietBox 2 for local inference, experimentation, and low-level kernel development. Its product page describes an open-source software stack that includes TT-Forge for compilation and TT-Metalium and TT-LLK for lower-level development. The company’s newsroom article identifies TT-Forge and TT-Metalium as open-source components available on GitHub, but the reviewed materials do not give a full, versioned compatibility list of models and frameworks. How fast is TT-QuietBox 2, according to Tenstorrent?
In a March 24, 2026 company-published article, Tenstorrent says QuietBox 2 can load OpenAI GPT-OSS-120B and reports Meta Llama 3.1 70B generation at nearly 500 tokens per second. The article describes a configuration with four Blackhole accelerators, 128 GB of GDDR6 accelerator memory, and 256 GB of DDR5 system memory. Treat the throughput as a company-reported result, not a universal expectation or an independently verified benchmark: the reviewed passage does not specify prompt length, quantization, batch size, software revision, or independent replication. [Tenstorrent Newsroom]
Tenstorrent also reports full-load system draw of 1,400 watts and says QuietBox 2 uses closed-loop liquid cooling. These figures concern QuietBox 2 as described in the March 24 article; they do not establish the original p150c system’s power use. The available sources do not provide a controlled performance or power comparison between the two generations. [Tenstorrent Newsroom]

How quiet is the liquid-cooled AI PC?
The sources characterize both generations as quiet, but neither provides a decibel reading or an acoustic test protocol. Wong’s Electronic Design article says of the original system: “Because the entire system is water-cooled, this high-performance system tends to be very quiet, which is no doubt beneficial for a desktop system.” That is the article author’s qualitative description, not a measured result. Tenstorrent markets QuietBox 2 as “Whisper Quiet” and identifies it as liquid-cooled, but its product page likewise gives no sound-pressure level, test distance, room background, fan curve, or comparative measurement. [Electronic Design] [Tenstorrent]
Liquid cooling is central to the quiet-operation story, but it does not by itself establish how loud a complete workstation will be in a particular room or under a particular workload. The reviewed sources do not establish an independent acoustic test for either model.
What does Tenstorrent list for TT-QuietBox 2?
On October 4, 2026, Tenstorrent’s product page listed TT-QuietBox 2 at $9,999 and described it as a liquid-cooled desktop AI workstation for local model development. Price and availability can change; check the live listing before deciding or purchasing. The listed product is QuietBox 2, not the original four-p150c configuration described by Electronic Design.
