The TEMPUR Original is a contoured, medium-firm pillow designed for back and side sleepers. Its shape and support may suit people who like a shaped pillow, but comfort depends on choosing the right contour height and version. “Original” covers more than one product specification: the current UK Original SmartCool listing differs from an official Queen Large product sheet in both available heights and cover-washing instructions. Check the label and documentation for the exact pillow you are considering or own before buying or washing it.
What is the TEMPUR Original pillow?
TEMPUR describes the Original as a contoured pillow made from TEMPUR Material and intended for back and side sleeping. The contour is designed to support the head and neck in those positions, but that design description is not evidence that the pillow will relieve pain or produce a particular health outcome. Queen Large product-sheet specification
TEMPUR’s Queen Large product sheet gives dimensions of 610 × 310 mm and two contour heights: 85 mm and 115 mm. These measurements apply to that specified size and sheet, not automatically to other sizes, markets, or generations. Current UK Original SmartCool options

How does it feel, and who is it for?
The contour and manufacturer-stated back- and side-sleeper use make the Original a plausible option for sleepers who want a shaped pillow rather than a conventional flat design. Height is an important part of the fit: a contour that feels comfortable to one person may not work for someone with different proportions or pillow preferences. TEMPUR’s upper-body-size guidance is a starting point, not a guarantee of individual comfort.
Stomach-sleeper suitability is not established by the cited TEMPUR product information. If you sleep on your stomach, do not infer that the pillow is appropriate from the back- and side-sleeper guidance; look for product-specific advice and consider whether its contour and height match your needs.

Care instructions vary by version
Follow the care label and paperwork supplied with your pillow. TEMPUR’s Queen Large product sheet says its cover can be machine washed up to 60°C, while the current UK Original SmartCool listing limits removable-cover washing to 40°C. The Queen Large product sheet also states a three-year guarantee, but guarantees and retailer terms should be confirmed for the specific market, version and seller. - Compare the listed dimensions and contour heights with your body size and preferred pillow height.
