In April 2019, Telenor Pakistan was reported to have partnered with STARZ PLAY by Cinepax, giving prepaid and postpaid customers a way to access the streaming service and pay through Telenor mobile balance. That is a historical announcement—not confirmation that Telenor still offers the service or billing option today.
What was the Telenor–STARZ PLAY by Cinepax partnership?
A report published by Teleco Alert on 22 April 2019 said Telenor Pakistan had partnered with STARZ PLAY by Cinepax. The arrangement was described as available to Telenor prepaid and postpaid users, with flexible payment through Telenor mobile balance. The report did not specify current prices, recurring billing rules, or cancellation terms, and it does not establish that the arrangement remains available. Teleco Alert’s 2019 report

What did the announcement say about the content?
The partnership’s appeal was the mix of regional and international programming in one subscription. The launch materials listed Hollywood blockbusters, premium series and box sets alongside Pakistani titles, Bollywood content, documentaries, and children’s entertainment. The announcement describes the catalogue at launch, not a guaranteed present-day selection.
STARZ PLAY co-founder and CEO Maaz Sheikh called the venture the company’s first launch outside the MENA region and said it would raise its potential consumer reach “from 350 million to over 500 million.” That was a forward-looking company estimate of potential reach, not a measured audience result. Can you subscribe to STARZ PLAY by Cinepax through Telenor now?
The available reporting establishes a Telenor mobile-balance payment route in 2019, but it does not verify current availability, eligibility, price, billing frequency, or cancellation steps. A STARZPLAY partner page identifies a Ufone subscription route; it does not confirm an active Telenor partnership. STARZPLAY’s partner page
