The TECO TPO46CFWAT is a cooling-only portable air conditioner that TECO rates at 4.6kW. Its listed Wi-Fi controls and included 1.5m exhaust hose may suit buyers who need a movable unit, but the available public information does not reveal an independent test verdict. Before buying, check the hose route, the appliance’s size and weight, and a discrepancy in published refrigerant details.

What independent review information is public?
CHOICE has a model-specific page titled “Teco TPO46CFWAT review.” The publicly visible information lists cooling-only operation, 4.6kW cooling capacity, a 36kg weight, dimensions of 75 × 45 × 40cm, a 150cm duct length and R290 refrigerant. It also displays a price of $1,069.00, but the page does not state a year and says retailer prices and links are unavailable. Treat that amount as the price displayed on the page when accessed, not as a current quote or verified lowest price. CHOICE’s TPO46CFWAT page

Check the refrigerant discrepancy
TECO’s current product specification page lists R32, while CHOICE’s public specification table lists R290. Those claims conflict, and the public information does not resolve whether this reflects different product versions or a listing error. Use TECO’s current page as the primary published specification, but check the refrigerant shown on the exact unit’s label or in its current manual if the distinction matters to you.

Will it work in your room and window setup?
Plan the exhaust route first
The supplied hose is 1.5m long. Measure the path from the intended appliance position to a suitable window opening and confirm that the included arrangement can be installed there. A longer or differently routed exhaust setup should not be assumed compatible: the available product information does not verify a specific replacement hose or window adapter.

Allow for its footprint and weight
At 745 × 450 × 396mm and 35.9kg net, the unit needs floor space and a practical route into the room. Castors are listed, but they do not remove the need to consider thresholds, turns, storage and where the appliance will sit during operation.
Consider the sound specification carefully
TECO lists indoor sound power of 65dB(A). That is a manufacturer-published sound-power figure, not an independent measurement of sound at a listener’s position or proof that the unit will seem quiet in a particular room.

Check drainage and ongoing support details
TECO recommends proper ventilation and drainage and links a user manual and warranty documents from its product page. The available listing does not establish this model’s warranty duration or confirm compatibility for a particular replacement filter, hose or repair part. Check the current documents and part details for the exact unit before relying on them.
How to compare it with other portable air conditioners
TECO’s portable-air-conditioner category includes other models, including 4.1kW and 4.2kW options, as well as lower-capacity units. The category listing establishes that alternatives exist; it does not show that any model performs better or worse in testing. TECO portable air conditioners
For a useful comparison, keep published specifications separate from independent measurements:
Quick Recap
- Cooling: Compare rated capacity, then look for independently accessible cooling results rather than assuming capacity alone predicts room performance.
- Energy and noise: Compare independent efficiency and operating-noise results when available; do not treat a manufacturer sound-power specification as a measured listening-position level.
- Fit and installation: Check dimensions, weight, exhaust-hose length and window arrangement against your room.
- Features and ownership: Compare controls, Wi-Fi, warranty terms, current price and confirmed support or replacement-part details.
- Exact model version: Confirm the refrigerant and model designation for the unit being sold, particularly given the R32/R290 discrepancy in the public listings.
