The Teco TPO42HVWAH is a portable reverse-cycle air conditioner that offers both cooling and heating. TECO lists 4.2 kW cooling capacity and 3.9 kW heating capacity, plus built-in Wi-Fi and a supplied window ventilation kit. Those are manufacturer specifications, not independent test results. CHOICE lists an exact-model review, but its public page does not reveal the full performance findings or recommended room size.
What the TPO42HVWAH is—and what it isn’t
TECO Australia identifies the TPO42HVWAH as an inverter reverse-cycle portable air conditioner: it is designed to provide both cooling and heating. Do not confuse it with the similar TPO42CVWAH, which is the cooling-only variant. A manual listing includes both model codes, but model-specific specifications should not be transferred between them. TECO’s product page and the manual listing identify the relevant models.

What the public review evidence tells you
CHOICE has a public review listing for the exact TPO42HVWAH. Its visible listing shows the model’s 4.2 kW cooling and 3.9 kW heating figures, a 27 kg weight, dimensions of 77 × 44 × 41 cm and a 150 cm duct. Plan the window and hose setup before buying
“Portable” does not mean installation-free: TECO says the unit must be positioned near a window, and the exhaust needs a route outside. Before choosing a spot, check the window arrangement, the hose path and the unit’s 770 × 440 × 410 mm dimensions. Also account for moving a 27 kg appliance, even though TECO lists rolling castors.

TECO lists a ventilation kit and 1.5 m exhaust hose as supplied accessories. Do not assume the kit makes an airtight seal or fits every window style; confirm compatibility and installation details against the actual window and the product instructions. The manufacturer’s product page provides the listed accessories, while a manual listing identifies documentation for the model.

How to interpret noise, capacity and efficiency claims
TECO’s 64 dB(A) figure is specified as indoor sound power. It is not a measure of perceived loudness at a particular distance, in a particular room, or on a particular fan setting. No independent noise result under stated test conditions is publicly established here.
Likewise, the listed capacities are manufacturer ratings, not proof of how quickly the appliance will cool or heat a particular room. The public CHOICE listing does not disclose its recommended room size or full performance findings. Without those details or comparable independent measurements, this evidence cannot support a room-size recommendation, a performance score, or a ranking against competing portable units.

Who should consider this model?
- Consider it if you want one portable appliance with both heating and cooling, and your room has a workable window and exhaust route.
- Check first if you need a published independent room-size recommendation, measured energy-use data, or a noise comparison under controlled conditions; those findings are not available in the public material described above.
- Verify before ordering that the retailer lists the exact TPO42HVWAH model code, that it is available in your location, and that its window kit can suit your installation.
