Short answer: the Tecno Spark Go 2024 is still a usable ultra-budget phone for calls, messaging, browsing, streaming, navigation, and casual games, but it is no longer a strong all-round buy in 2026. Its best features are the 5,000mAh battery, 90Hz display, dual speakers, USB-C port, fingerprint reader, and low price. Its main weaknesses are the slow 10W charging, entry-level performance, modest cameras, Android Go limitations, uncertain future software support, and region-dependent hardware.
Buy it only if it is substantially cheaper than newer alternatives, or if features such as dual speakers, expandable storage, and long battery life matter more than camera quality and long-term updates. If the newer Tecno Spark Go 1 is available for a similar price, it is generally the safer purchase.

What is the Tecno Spark Go 2024?
The Tecno Spark Go 2024 is an entry-level Android smartphone in Tecno’s Spark Go series. It is sometimes listed as the Tecno Spark Go (2024), TECNO SPARK Go 2024, or simply SPARK Go 2024. FCC documentation identifies the device as model BG6, although regional retail versions and firmware identifiers can differ.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches2Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors3Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteThe model appeared in global markets in November 2023, while Tecno formally announced it in India on December 4, 2023. Indian sales began on December 7. The original Indian price was ₹6,699 for the 3GB/64GB version, and Tecno later announced an introductory ₹6,799 price for an 8GB-marketed/128GB version sold through Amazon from February 9, 2024. Those are historical launch prices, not dependable prices for 2026. The launch details were reported by Gadgets 360 and Tecno’s launch release.
It is important not to treat the Spark Go 2024 as one globally identical phone. Memory, storage, colors, LTE bands, software builds, and accessories can vary by country. Check the exact model code and local specification page before importing one.

The RAM figures are easy to misunderstand
Listings that advertise the Spark Go 2024 with 6GB or 8GB of RAM can be misleading. On Tecno India’s specifications page, the advertised configurations are split as follows:
Free tools Windows power users keep installed
One-click scans. No signup required.
| Advertised configuration | Physical RAM | Extended Memory Fusion RAM | Storage |
|---|---|---|---|
| 6GB RAM | 3GB | 3GB | 64GB |
| 8GB RAM | 4GB | 4GB | 64GB or 128GB |
Memory Fusion reserves part of the phone’s internal storage as virtual memory. It may help the phone retain some lightweight apps when physical memory is tight, but storage is considerably slower than actual RAM. An advertised 8GB version should therefore not be compared directly with a phone that contains 8GB of physical RAM.
For most buyers, the most sensible version is the one with 4GB of physical RAM and 128GB of storage, provided the price difference is small. Do not pay a substantial premium merely because a listing says 8GB RAM. Confirm the physical-memory split in the local Tecno specification page or product packaging.
Display: smooth scrolling, but only HD+ resolution
The phone has a large punch-hole display measuring approximately 6.56 or 6.6 inches, depending on how the retailer rounds the specification. Its 720 × 1612 resolution is HD+, not Full HD. Text, photos, and video are usable, but a newer Full HD phone will look sharper, especially for reading fine text.
The up-to-90Hz refresh rate is a genuine advantage at this price. Scrolling through supported menus and apps can look smoother than on a conventional 60Hz budget phone. It does not, however, make the T606 processor faster. The setting may also consume somewhat more power, and individual apps can revert to 60Hz.
Tecno’s Dynamic Port places selected notifications and status animations around the punch-hole camera. It is a software notification area, not an equivalent to Apple’s Dynamic Island, and its support is limited to selected system functions and apps. The screen also has the compromises expected of an inexpensive phone, including HD+ sharpness and a relatively thick lower bezel.
Performance and gaming
The Unisoc T606 is an entry-level 4G platform. The phone is adequate for calls, messaging, email, ordinary web browsing, YouTube, music, navigation, and casual games. A related Unisoc platform document describes the same general class of architecture as two Cortex-A75 cores and six Cortex-A55 cores at up to 1.6GHz with an Arm Mali-G57 GPU; that should be treated as architecture context rather than a substitute for a full T606 benchmark. See Unisoc’s platform documentation.
In everyday use, the 90Hz display can make basic scrolling feel responsive, but app launches and heavier multitasking expose the phone’s limits. An independent Techlusive review found ordinary multitasking possible while noting that apps could take time to open. Duplicate or unwanted preinstalled apps were also criticized.

What it can handle
- Calls, SMS, WhatsApp, email, and social media.
- Light web browsing and online banking, assuming the relevant apps remain supported.
- YouTube and normal video streaming.
- Music, podcasts, GPS navigation, and casual games.
- Light multitasking after unused apps are closed.
Where it struggles
- Large 3D games and high graphics settings.
- Long gaming sessions that create heat and drain the battery.
- Heavy photo or video editing.
- Keeping many large apps active in the background.
- Maintaining flagship-like performance as storage fills and apps become more demanding.
This is a casual-gaming phone, not a gaming phone. Exact frame-rate claims would depend on the game, graphics preset, temperature, software version, and test method, so a general performance description is more reliable than quoting one universal FPS figure.
Camera quality: functional in daylight, weak in difficult light
The rear system combines a 13MP main camera with an AI or auxiliary camera and dual rear flash. The front camera is 8MP and has dual front flash. Tecno’s megapixel counts describe resolution, not image quality; sensor size, optics, processing, exposure, and lighting are equally important.
In good daylight, the rear camera can produce acceptable images for messaging and casual social-media posts. Colors may look vibrant, and the front flash can help with extremely dark selfies. That is the realistic strength of the camera system.
Independent testing reported soft detail, inconsistent exposure and white balance, weak edge separation in portrait mode, noisy and less detailed low-light photos, and average video quality. The rear camera can record up to 1080p at 30fps according to review coverage, but this should not be confused with high-end video stabilization or night performance. The best description is functional rather than impressive. See the camera findings in the Techlusive review.
Battery life is a strength; charging speed is not
The 5,000mAh non-removable battery is one of the Spark Go 2024’s strongest features. With moderate use involving messaging, browsing, video, and calls, it can generally last through a full day and may reach a second day for lighter users. Actual endurance varies with brightness, mobile-signal strength, refresh rate, gaming, temperature, and battery age.
The Tool Desk
Outbyte Driver Updater FREEScan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →Outbyte PC Repair FREERepair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →Independent results illustrate the range without making a universal promise. One review reported approximately 11 hours 33 minutes in a PCMark battery test, while another reported roughly three hours to charge from empty to full using the supplied 10W charger. Those are individual tests, not guaranteed results for every handset. The results are discussed by Technophile and Techlusive.
Ten-watt charging is slow by 2026 standards. The phone is a good fit for someone who values endurance and charges overnight, but a poor fit for someone who frequently needs a quick top-up after draining the battery.
Software: Android Go helps the hardware, but limits longevity
Tecno product pages may label the software Android T-Go, while regional support documentation identifies the launch software as Android 13 Go with HiOS 13. These labels refer to Tecno’s Android Go-based software experience, not an entirely separate Android family.

Android Go is optimized for lower-end hardware and reduced memory. That can help a phone such as the Spark Go 2024 remain usable, but it also means some standard Android behavior can be limited or different. Google’s Android Go documentation notes that features such as picture-in-picture, split-screen or multi-screen use, live wallpapers, and multi-display can be disabled by default or behave differently on Go devices.

What is known about updates?
A Tecno Türkiye support page updated November 7, 2025 reports that no Android or HiOS version upgrade is planned for that regional Spark Go 2024 model. The same page lists maintenance firmware updates through October 8, 2024, including stability, animation, system optimization, and background-noise fixes. This is useful regional evidence, but it should not be generalized into a formal worldwide policy for every BG6 variant.
In practice, buyers should treat the Spark Go 2024 as an older Android 13 Go phone with limited upgrade prospects. After setup, check Settings → System → System update, install available Google Play and app updates, and confirm that banking, messaging, streaming, and other essential apps still support the device.
Do not install a firmware file from an unrelated BG6, BG6M, BG6S, or another regional build merely because the model name looks similar. A mismatched image can cause boot failure, camera or network problems, or a permanently unusable phone. Back up data before a factory reset or any firmware operation, and treat third-party Android 14 or Android 15 update claims as unverified unless Tecno provides the file for the exact model and region.
Audio, ports, storage, and everyday features
The dual speakers are a notable benefit for a phone in this price class. They are useful for calls, videos, podcasts, and speakerphone use. Tecno promotes DTS support and claims output of up to 400% louder than a reference standard; that figure is Tecno’s marketing claim, not an independently measured result.
Quick wins for a faster PC:
Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →The phone uses USB-C rather than the older micro-USB connector and supports USB OTG. Official specifications also list Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, and FM radio. A 3.5mm headphone jack is reported in independent specifications and reviews, but imported buyers should verify that the exact regional retail unit includes it.
Expandable storage is another area where listings differ. A dedicated microSD slot, sometimes advertised with support for cards up to 1TB, appears on many regional listings, but it is not displayed consistently on all official Tecno specification pages. Confirm the specific SKU before relying on a memory card. If there is no dedicated slot, the second SIM position may be involved, or the regional phone may not support the same arrangement.
Remember that the available internal storage is lower than 64GB or 128GB after Android, HiOS, preinstalled applications, and user data are accounted for. The phone also uses a software gyroscope, so motion-sensitive games and apps may not behave like they would on a handset with a physical gyroscope.

U.S. compatibility: do not assume full carrier support
The Spark Go 2024 is an international 4G model rather than a normal U.S.-market phone. FCC documentation for the BG6 lists these marketed LTE bands:
Recommended Free Tools
B2, B4, B5, B7, B12, B17, B38, B40, B41, and B66.
The same filing says other LTE bands were disabled in software and cannot be activated by the end user. It also confirms that the phone has no 5G radio. See the FCC LTE-band filing and FCC user-manual documentation.
For U.S. buyers, the missing bands matter. The listed bands do not include LTE Band 13, which is important to Verizon coverage, or LTE Band 71, which is important to some T-Mobile coverage. Even when a frequency appears compatible, carrier VoLTE provisioning, device whitelisting, regional firmware, and the carrier’s IMEI policy can determine whether calls and mobile data work.
Therefore, do not buy an imported Spark Go 2024 based only on a listing that says unlocked 4G. Ask the carrier to check the exact IMEI before purchase. The safest expectation is partial rather than guaranteed nationwide U.S. compatibility. An FCC filing proves radio certification and disclosed band support; it does not prove that AT&T, T-Mobile, Verizon, or every MVNO will activate and fully support the phone.
Which version should you buy?
Choose 4GB physical RAM and 128GB storage when possible
The 128GB version is preferable for people who take many photos and videos, install several games, download offline maps or streaming content, or plan to keep the phone for more than a year. It also reduces the pressure to manage storage as apps grow.
64GB is acceptable for basic use
A 64GB model can work for calls, messaging, streaming, and light browsing. Choose it when it is clearly cheaper and you have confirmed microSD support on that exact regional SKU. Keep in mind that the usable capacity will be lower than the number on the box.
Do not pay for virtual RAM as if it were physical RAM
The marketed 6GB configuration is generally 3GB physical plus 3GB extended memory. The marketed 8GB configurations are generally 4GB physical plus 4GB extended memory. More virtual memory can be useful in some situations, but it does not make the phone twice as fast or turn it into an 8GB physical-RAM device.

Tecno Spark Go 2024 versus Spark Go 1
The closest first-party alternative is Tecno’s newer Spark Go 1. Its official specification page lists Android 14 Go, the newer Unisoc T615 processor, a 6.67-inch 120Hz display, IP54 protection, a 5,000mAh battery, 15W charging, dual DTS speakers, a side fingerprint reader, and up to 128GB storage with advertised extended RAM.

If the Spark Go 1 costs only modestly more, its newer software, newer chipset, faster charging, higher refresh rate, and IP54 rating make it the more future-oriented choice. The Spark Go 2024 remains reasonable when it is meaningfully cheaper, comes with a better local warranty, or offers a storage configuration unavailable on the newer model.
Final buying advice
Judge the Spark Go 2024 by its actual 2026 selling price, not its launch price or its advertised 8GB RAM label. It is a practical basic-use phone with a good-sized battery, smooth-feeling display, loud dual-speaker setup, and useful USB-C connectivity. It is not a performance phone, camera phone, fast-charging phone, or long-term software-support phone.
Before buying, verify the exact physical RAM, storage, microSD arrangement, LTE bands, software build, warranty, and carrier compatibility. For a new unit, compare it directly with the Spark Go 1 and other locally available entry-level phones. For a used unit, prioritize battery condition and account status over the headline specification.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does the Tecno Spark Go 2024 have 8GB of RAM?
It can be advertised as an 8GB model, but the Indian configurations generally combine 4GB of physical RAM with 4GB of Memory Fusion virtual RAM. The virtual portion uses internal storage and is slower than physical RAM.
Is the Tecno Spark Go 2024 a 5G phone?
No. It is a 4G LTE phone based on the Unisoc T606 platform. It does not have a 5G radio.
Can the Tecno Spark Go 2024 work in the United States?
It may work partially on some U.S. networks, but full compatibility is not guaranteed. The FCC-listed BG6 bands do not include LTE Band 13 or Band 71, and carrier IMEI approval and VoLTE provisioning also matter. Have the carrier check the exact IMEI before buying.
Will the Tecno Spark Go 2024 get Android 14 or a newer HiOS version?
A Tecno Türkiye support page reports that no Android or HiOS version upgrade is planned for that regional model. Because update policies can vary by country and submodel, check Tecno support for the exact device rather than relying on unofficial update claims.
Does the Tecno Spark Go 2024 support a microSD card?
MicroSD support is reported on many regional listings, sometimes with capacity up to 1TB, but it is not shown consistently on every official regional specification page. Verify the exact SKU and SIM-slot arrangement before purchase.
Quick wins for a faster PC:
Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →Is the Tecno Spark Go 2024 good for gaming?
It is suitable for casual games but not demanding 3D gaming. The T606 is an entry-level chipset, and heavier games may require low graphics settings with slower loading and inconsistent performance.
The Bottom Line
Bottom line: buy the Tecno Spark Go 2024 in 2026 only at a clearly discounted price and after checking the regional variant. Its battery, 90Hz screen, speakers, and basic usability remain good; its 10W charging, cameras, Android Go limitations, aging software base, and uncertain carrier or update support are the reasons not to overpay.
