The POVA Curve 2 5G is the battery-first option: TECNO lists an 8,000mAh battery, compared with 5,500mAh in the original POVA Curve 5G. Both are specified with a 6.78-inch curved AMOLED display, up to 144Hz refresh and 45W charging. The original lists a Dimensity 7300 Ultimate and 64MP main camera; the Curve 2 moves to a Dimensity 7100 5G and a 50MP + 2MP rear-camera setup. Those specification differences do not establish which phone lasts longer in real use, performs better in games, or takes better photos.
How the POVA Curve and Curve 2 differ
The most consequential specification change is the Curve 2’s larger rated battery. The original Curve 5G lists a higher-tier-sounding processor name and a higher-resolution main-camera specification, while the Curve 2 adds capacity and runs newer listed software. Treat these as hardware and software-sheet differences, not substitutes for matched testing.

What the differences mean in everyday buying
Battery capacity favors the Curve 2 on paper
TECNO lists the Curve 2 at 8,000mAh, 2,500mAh more than the original’s 5,500mAh. Both are listed with 45W charging. Capacity alone cannot tell you how many hours either phone will last: display use, signal conditions, software, and workload affect runtime, and no matched battery-life test is established here.

The display headline is similar, not proof of an identical experience
Both models are specified with a 6.78-inch curved AMOLED panel and a 144Hz refresh rate. TECNO’s Bangladesh Curve 2 specification sheet also lists 2364 × 1080 resolution and Gorilla Glass 7i. The matching size and refresh-rate claims do not establish equal brightness, calibration, touch behavior, or protection across regional variants. If curved edges are a concern, check the local model and return terms before buying.
Chip and camera numbers are not performance tests
The original names a Dimensity 7300 Ultimate, while the Curve 2 lists a Dimensity 7100 5G. No matched benchmark or gaming test establishes which is faster in practical use. The original’s 64MP main-camera figure is higher than the Curve 2’s 50MP main-camera figure, but megapixel counts do not measure image quality. The Curve 2 also lists a 2MP rear camera, and both phones list a 13MP front camera.

Software version and body weight depend on the source and market
TECNO lists HiOS 15 for the original and HiOS 16 based on Android 16 for the Curve 2’s Bangladesh specification. The available specifications do not establish update duration, and software versions can vary by market. For the Curve 2’s body, TECNO India lists 7.42mm thickness while Gadgets 360’s India launch report gives a weight of 192g; the original TECNO page lists 7.45mm and 176g. On those cited figures, the newer model is slightly thinner but heavier.

Gadgets 360 reported on February 13, 2026, that TECNO launched the Curve 2 in India at ₹27,999 for 8GB RAM/128GB storage and ₹29,999 for 8GB/256GB. The report said sales were scheduled to start on February 20, 2026, through Flipkart, and cited up to ₹3,000 in eligible bank discounts at launch. These are reported launch prices and an opening offer, not a current checkout quote.

A Beebom comparison snapshot displays ₹15,999 for the original Curve 5G and ₹26,499 for the Curve 2, but does not settle the current price for a particular storage variant. Check the live listing for the country, seller, exact RAM/storage configuration, and applicable offer before comparing totals. Which phone should you buy?
- Choose the Curve 2 if battery capacity is your main priority. Its listed 8,000mAh battery is substantially larger, while charging is listed at the same 45W rate as the original. Factor in its reported 192g weight and the price of the exact variant you can buy.
- Consider the original Curve 5G if its listed specifications or price suit you better. It lists the Dimensity 7300 Ultimate, a 64MP main camera, 176g weight, and 10W reverse charging. A lower figure in a comparison snapshot is not a guaranteed current price, and the available information does not establish superior speed or photos.
- Check the exact regional version before ordering. The Curve 2’s detailed specification sheet cited here is for Bangladesh, while the quoted launch pricing is for India. Confirm local storage/RAM, network bands, software version, warranty, and return policy. TECNO notes that specifications can change with suppliers and that some AI features roll out at different times by country or region.
TECNO also promotes FreeLink/no-network calling features: the original product page describes calling and messaging within 500m in signal-free areas and says actual distance varies with conditions; the India Curve 2 page promotes calling up to 2km and cites TechArc, January 2026. These are manufacturer descriptions, not independently comparable range tests or a substitute for emergency communications.
