The Tecno Pova Curve 2 is the clearer choice if you want a curved AMOLED screen; the Pova 8 5G stands out for its rear Active Matrix lighting. Their listed battery capacity, charging rate and chipset are the same, so the available specifications do not establish a broad winner. Check the exact Indian RAM and storage variant and the live price before buying: published storage details conflict, and the available price figures are retailer snapshots rather than confirmed official prices.

The storage figures are unresolved, not interchangeable variants confirmed for India. TECNO’s Curve 2 page is regional, and TECNO India’s accessible product pages did not provide enough specifications or price information to verify every local configuration. Treat the table as a guide to the available evidence, not a guarantee of the exact phone offered in a particular Indian listing.
Which display is better for you?
Choose Curve 2 for AMOLED and a curved panel
TECNO’s regional specifications describe the Curve 2 as having a 6.78-inch curved AMOLED screen with a 144 Hz refresh rate and 2364 × 1080 resolution. That makes it the stronger fit if display technology and curved edges are your deciding factors. Confirm that the Indian SKU you are considering has the same panel and configuration.
Choose Pova 8 for the rear Active Matrix feature
Android Central describes the Pova 8’s main display as a 6.76-inch, 144 Hz LCD. It is not an AMOLED screen. Its distinctive display feature is instead on the back: the Active Matrix lighting can show notifications, charging status, music waveforms and the time while the phone is face down. That is an extra way to glance at information, not evidence that its main screen has better image quality.

How much RAM and storage does each have?
The published storage information does not agree. TECNO’s regional Curve 2 specification page lists 256 GB ROM and 8 GB physical RAM, with an additional 8 GB extended-memory claim; 91mobiles’ comparison excerpt lists 128 GB storage for the Curve 2. For the Pova 8, Android Central reports 6 GB or 8 GB RAM and 256 GB storage, while 91mobiles lists 128 GB storage. TECNO India’s accessible Pova 8 page did not settle the discrepancy.
Extended memory is a software feature that uses storage to supplement memory; it is not the same as additional physical RAM. Before checkout, read the listing’s exact model variant and confirm the storage shown in the seller’s order details. Do not assume a comparison page’s storage figure applies to every Indian SKU.

Do the phones perform the same?
The listed chipsets point to a similar starting point: TECNO specifies a MediaTek Dimensity 7100 for Curve 2, while Android Central identifies the Pova 8’s processor as MediaTek 7100 and 91mobiles calls it Dimensity 7100. That shared specification is not a controlled performance comparison. Software, RAM configuration, heat and workload can affect real-world speed, and the available evidence does not establish a sustained-performance winner.

Which phone has better battery life?
Both are listed with 8,000 mAh batteries and 45 W charging, but equal capacity does not prove equal endurance. Android Central’s reviewer described a multi-day battery experience with the Pova 8 review unit; that is reviewer experience, not a guaranteed runtime for every owner or usage pattern.

91mobiles’ comparison reports a battery-test result of 17 hours 34 minutes for the Pova 8 and 15 hours 13 minutes for the Curve 2. The accessible material does not explain the test method, so those figures are only that site’s reported result and should not be treated as a dependable prediction of everyday screen time. The evidence is not enough to promise that one phone will last longer for a particular buyer.
Are the cameras or build clearly better?
On paper, the Curve 2 has a 50 MP + 2 MP rear camera system and a 13 MP selfie camera; Android Central lists a 50 MP rear camera and 13 MP front camera for the Pova 8. Megapixel counts and camera-module descriptions do not establish photo quality. There is no comparable camera testing here to support a confident image-quality ranking.

- Built-In Hidden Card Slot Wallet Design for Daily Convenience
- Slideable Full-Cover Camera Cover for Lens & Privacy Protection
- Dual Layer Hybrid Shockproof Structure All-Around Drop Defense
- 2-Way Foldable Kickstand for Hands-Free Viewing Modes
- Matte Skin-Friendly Surface with Anti-Fingerprint Coating
Android Central reports that its Pova 8 review unit measures 165.7 × 78.5 × 8.8 mm and weighs 225 g, and its reviewer describes the phone as thick and heavy. Comparable Curve 2 dimensions and weight are not established in the available specifications, so a size or comfort comparison would be speculative.
What is the price difference in India?
91mobiles’ comparison page showed ₹26,899 for the Curve 2 at Amazon and ₹29,999 for the Pova 8 5G at Flipkart. These are two retailer snapshots, not verified official prices or a like-for-like comparison: the seller, sale conditions and storage variant were not reconciled. The apparent ₹3,100 gap should not be treated as a confirmed premium for the Pova 8.

Android Central characterizes the Pova 8 as starting at roughly $400 in India, but that rough editorial description is not a same-date, same-seller price that can be combined with the retailer listings. TECNO India’s accessible Pova 8 page did not establish an official price. Check both phones at checkout, comparing the same RAM and storage configuration and the final price from the seller you intend to use.
Which Tecno phone should you buy?
- Pick the Pova Curve 2 if a curved AMOLED panel is your priority and the Indian listing confirms the configuration you want.
- Consider the Pova 8 5G if you value its rear Active Matrix lighting; Android Central’s favorable battery-life impression applies to its review unit and should not be read as a runtime guarantee.
- Do not choose on assumed speed or camera superiority. The listed chipsets are shared, and comparable performance or camera tests are not established.
- Buy only after verifying the SKU and checkout price. Storage reports conflict for both phones, and the observed prices come from different retailers.
Neither phone is a clear all-round winner on the available evidence. The decision is most straightforward when driven by the display you want or the Pova 8’s rear lighting feature; configuration and price still need checking on the exact Indian listing.
