The TECNO POVA 8 Pro 5G lists a larger battery, faster 144Hz display and higher-wattage charging than the Nothing Phone (4b). Nothing’s published specifications, meanwhile, include a defined software-support period. There is no fair price-difference figure in the available official listings: Nothing has published launch and UK store prices, but TECNO’s reviewed product and specification pages do not list a retail price.

These are manufacturer-published specifications, not independent test results. In particular, brightness figures may use different measurement methods, and chipset names alone do not establish which phone is faster.
Which phone has the bigger battery and faster charging?
TECNO lists a 6,500mAh battery and 45W charging for the POVA 8 Pro 5G. Nothing lists 5,200mAh globally and 6,000mAh in India for Phone (4b), with 33W charging. The battery comparison depends on which regional Nothing version is being considered; the two capacities should not be treated as one universal specification.

Which display is better?
The POVA 8 Pro 5G has the higher listed refresh rate: 144Hz against the Phone (4b)’s adaptive 120Hz. TECNO also lists a 6.78-inch panel, fractionally larger than Nothing’s 6.77-inch screen. That makes TECNO the clear choice on the published refresh-rate figure, but it does not by itself prove that the screen looks better in every situation.
The manufacturers’ brightness figures are not directly comparable without matching test methods. TECNO lists normal, HBM and peak brightness values; Nothing’s announcement gives outdoor and peak values. Treat them as each manufacturer’s claims rather than a controlled head-to-head result.

- Compatible with Tecno Pova 8 Pro 5G
- Rugged, rigid plastic back cover and soft, flexible TPU inner sleeve for heavy-duty shock protection, non-slip, scratch-resistant and durable.

- Inside the center of the holder ring there is a piece of hidden iron that allows the case to be attached to the magnetic car holder, strong and sturdy, navigate on your trips without danger.
Do the cameras make one a better choice?
Both phones list a 50MP main camera with optical image stabilisation (OIS). Their secondary rear cameras are described differently: TECNO specifies an 8MP ultra-wide, while Nothing gives a 119° field of view. The front-camera resolutions are 13MP for TECNO and 16MP for Nothing.
These specifications do not establish which phone takes better photos or video. Resolution and lens field of view are not substitutes for comparable image samples or testing, and no independent side-by-side camera results are available here.

Which processor is faster?
TECNO names the MediaTek Dimensity 7400 Ultimate 5G, with an octa-core CPU listed up to 2.6GHz; Nothing names the Qualcomm Snapdragon 6 Gen 4. Those labels are not enough to declare a performance winner. No directly comparable independent benchmark results are available, so choose based on other needs unless reliable testing for the exact regional models is available.
How do software updates compare?
TECNO lists HiOS 16 based on Android 16. Nothing lists Nothing OS 4.1 based on Android 16 and explicitly commits to three years of Android updates and six years of security patches for Phone (4b). The reviewed TECNO specification material does not provide an equivalent support period, so it would be inaccurate to assume the same commitment applies to both.

What is the price difference?
A reliable same-market price difference cannot be calculated from the official listings reviewed. Nothing announced a global launch price of £299, €329 or ₹29,999 for the 8GB + 128GB Phone (4b). Its announcement also identifies an India-only 8GB + 256GB configuration and distinguishes promotional effective prices from MRPs. When accessed on 7 October 2026, Nothing’s UK store displayed £269, reduced from £299; store prices can change.

Other TECNO claims to put in context
TECNO describes the POVA 8 Pro 5G as having IP68/IP69 ratings under controlled laboratory conditions and an IP69K claim based on a specified standard. Those are manufacturer test claims, not a guarantee against every kind of water exposure.
TECNO also says laboratory simulation showed the battery retaining at least 80% capacity after 2,000 complete charge cycles, associating that result with approximately six years under its stated average charging assumption. This is not an independently verified lifespan for every owner.
TECNO’s product page says the 144FPS (Ultra Extreme) option for PUBG MOBILE was expected through a future major game update by October 2026, with availability dependent on that update. Because the stated rollout was conditional, check the game itself for current availability rather than assuming the option is active.
Quick Recap
Which phone should you choose?
- Consider the TECNO POVA 8 Pro 5G if its listed 144Hz display, 6,500mAh battery or 45W charging best fits your priorities—and if its current price and availability in your market work for you.
- Consider the Nothing Phone (4b) if Nothing’s stated software-support period matters to you, or its regional configuration and current local price are a better fit.
- For camera or speed priorities, the published specifications do not settle the comparison. Look for independent tests of the exact models rather than inferring a winner from megapixels or chipset names.
