The TECNO CAMON 50 Ultra 5G is built around a curved 144Hz AMOLED display, a three-camera rear system and a large 6,500mAh battery. Those specifications make it an appealing option on paper, but the buying decision hinges on practical trade-offs: Android Central’s reviewer found good everyday photos and long battery life, while reporting that high zoom gets muddy, demanding games need lower settings, and charging takes about 90 minutes from empty.
Those hands-on findings are one reviewer’s experience, not tests conducted for this article. Specifications below are identified as TECNO’s regional listings, and prices are tied to their market and date.
What the CAMON 50 Ultra 5G offers
TECNO’s Bangladesh specification page lists a MediaTek Dimensity 7400 Ultimate processor, HiOS 16, NFC, USB-C, OTG support and dual speakers with Dolby Atmos. It specifies 256GB of storage with either 8GB or 12GB of physical RAM, plus extended RAM. These are Bangladesh-listed configurations; check the exact model and memory options sold in your market.
The same page lists dimensions of 162.37 × 76.97 × 7.75 mm and three colors: Moonshadow Black, Cypress Green and Nebula Titanium. Its listed network support spans 2G, 3G, 4G and 5G. That does not establish compatibility with every carrier or band, so check the local SKU against your carrier before buying. TECNO Bangladesh specifications

Is the curved 144Hz display useful?
TECNO lists a 6.78-inch curved AMOLED display with 1.5K resolution (1208 × 2644) and a 144Hz refresh rate. The high refresh rate is intended to make supported motion and scrolling look smoother than on a standard-refresh display. Whether you notice the difference depends on what you do on the phone and how software manages refresh rate; the specification alone does not establish how often it runs at 144Hz or how much battery that uses.
The curve is a design and handling preference rather than a picture-quality guarantee. If you often brush the edges while gripping a phone, try the device in person or check return terms before committing. The published material does not establish its accidental-touch behavior.
How good are the cameras in practice?
TECNO lists a 50MP main camera with optical image stabilization (OIS), a 50MP 3× telephoto camera, and an 8MP ultra-wide camera on the rear. The front camera is listed at 50MP. In Android Central’s review, published 17 March 2026, reviewer Derrek Lee reported good daytime photos and decent night photos. These are observations from that reviewer’s use, not a controlled comparison or a guarantee of results across scenes. OIS can help reduce blur from camera movement, but it cannot by itself ensure sharp results when a subject is moving or light is poor.

3× telephoto and longer zoom
The dedicated 3× telephoto camera gives the phone a separate camera for that magnification, but it does not mean every higher zoom level retains comparable detail. Android Central found that zoom images became muddy at 20×. TECNO’s promotional material advertises zoom up to 60×, but that figure should not be read as a promise of usable fine detail at 60×. For distant subjects, judge the phone by sample images at the magnification you expect to use, not by its maximum zoom number.
Ultra-wide, selfies and moving subjects
The Bangladesh specification lists an 8MP ultra-wide and a 50MP selfie camera. Android Central reported that the phone handled fast-moving subjects well using FlashSnap. The available review evidence does not establish how consistently the ultra-wide and selfie cameras match the main camera in color, exposure or detail, so those are worth checking in samples if they matter to you.
TECNO’s 3 March 2026 press release reports a DXOMARK score of 146 overall and 142 for portrait, and describes the overall score as the highest for smartphones under $600. Those are claims reported by TECNO, not an independently verified ranking here; the release is not a substitute for checking the original DXOMARK result and comparing phones under the same conditions. How long does the battery last, and how long does charging take?
TECNO lists a 6,500mAh battery and 45W Super Charge on its Bangladesh specification page. Android Central’s reviewer said the phone lasted all day and then some in their use, reporting about 6–8 hours or more of screen-on time. That is one reviewer’s result, not a standardized battery test; screen-on time varies with signal, brightness, apps and other usage.

The same reviewer reported roughly 90 minutes to charge from empty to full and 33 minutes to reach 50%. These are observed charge times, not guaranteed specifications. The large capacity supports endurance, but the reported full-charge time is a trade-off if you routinely need to refill quickly.
TECNO India separately advertises a TÜV SÜD “> 2 Day” battery endurance claim and says its TECNO Lab found over 80% battery capacity after 1,800 cycles under stated temperature conditions. The company says battery data comes from its lab and device performance may vary. Treat these as manufacturer claims, not independent measurements or a prediction of the lifespan of every unit. Is performance good enough for games and everyday use?
The Bangladesh listing names the Dimensity 7400 Ultimate and HiOS 16. Android Central’s reviewer described daily performance as capable and the interface as fluid, but cautioned that heavier games should not be expected to run smoothly at their highest settings. That makes the phone easier to recommend for routine apps and moderate play than for buyers who prioritize demanding games at maximum graphics.

What is known about software and updates?
TECNO’s Bangladesh page lists HiOS 16. Android Central describes the reviewed phone as running HiOS 16 based on Android 16. The available sources do not establish a model-specific duration for Android-version upgrades or security updates. If long-term support is important, ask TECNO or the seller for the commitment applicable to your country and exact model before purchasing.
What does it cost, and is the price fair in your country?
Prices are market- and date-specific. Gadgets 360 listed an Amazon India lowest price of ₹39,998 on 7 October 2026; that is a dated listing, not a guaranteed current price. TECNO Pakistan announced PKR 119,999 at launch in May 2026. Neither figure should be treated as a universal price or directly compared without accounting for local taxes, configuration and warranty.
For a meaningful local comparison, check the live price for the exact RAM and storage configuration, seller and return terms, local warranty, network compatibility, and comparable phones available in your market. The Pakistan launch notice said the device was PTA approved, supported mobile networks across Pakistan, and came with a 12+1 month official warranty at launch; those details apply to that market and launch announcement, not other regions. Who should consider it?
- Consider it if you want a large, high-refresh curved display, a dedicated 3× telephoto camera and a high-capacity battery, and the local price and support terms suit you.
- Look more closely before buying if you rely on high-magnification zoom, want demanding games at maximum settings, need especially fast full charging, or expect a clearly documented update-support period.
- Compare locally against phones with similar prices and warranty terms, checking real camera samples, battery and charge tests, the games you play, software support, and carrier compatibility rather than relying on a headline score or one specification.
