The TEAMGROUP T-FORCE G70 PRO 2TB is a PCIe 4.0 NVMe M.2 2280 SSD rated for up to 7,400 MB/s reads and 6,800 MB/s writes, with DRAM cache and 1,480 TBW endurance. It is a plausible high-performance upgrade if your system supports PCIe/NVMe and has room for the cooling version you choose. Those speed figures are manufacturer maximums, not guaranteed results in every PC, and independent thermal results show that the host enclosure can make a meaningful difference.
What the 2TB G70 PRO offers
TEAMGROUP lists the 2TB G70 PRO as an M.2 2280 drive using PCIe Gen4 x4 and NVMe. Its stated sequential ceilings are up to 7,400 MB/s read and 6,800 MB/s write. The drive includes DRAM cache and carries a 1,480 TBW endurance rating. These are manufacturer specifications; actual throughput depends on the host system, software, and workload. TEAMGROUP also notes that usable capacity can be lower than the nominal 2TB after formatting and system functions.
The listed 2TB part numbers are TM8FFH002T0C129 and TM8FFH002T0C128. TEAMGROUP’s product page is the controlling source for current specifications and lists the exact variants separately.

The 2TB capacity is offered with either a graphene cooling configuration or an aluminum heatsink. TEAMGROUP lists different dimensions and part numbers for the two versions:

Do not assume that a retailer listing’s cooling description applies to both part numbers. Verify the exact suffix and dimensions before buying. If your motherboard has an integrated M.2 heatsink, check its installation instructions and clearance before choosing a drive version; the fit depends on the board’s design.
Check compatibility before installation
M.2 2280 describes the drive’s physical form factor, not whether a particular M.2 slot supports it. The host must support an M.2 PCIe/NVMe SSD. A physically compatible slot that supports only SATA M.2 drives is not sufficient. TEAMGROUP advises buyers to confirm that the device, motherboard, processor, and BIOS support the SSD to avoid incompatibility issues.

- Confirm the slot supports PCIe/NVMe storage, not just the M.2 shape.
- Check the M.2 2280 length and the chosen cooling version’s height against the system’s clearance.
- For a laptop, verify the manufacturer’s supported drive type and any thermal-cover requirements.
- For a desktop, check whether the motherboard’s M.2 heatsink can be used with the selected version.
How to interpret the speed and endurance ratings
Peak throughput
The 7,400/6,800 MB/s read/write figures are maximum sequential ratings published by TEAMGROUP, based on its internal testing and conditional on host hardware and software. They describe large, sequential transfers; they do not mean every application or file copy will run at those rates. Random access, queue depth, workload, drive state, and the rest of the system all affect observed performance. The figures are not an independent head-to-head result.
Endurance and warranty
The listed 1,480 TBW rating is the drive’s rated total bytes written. TEAMGROUP lists a five-year limited warranty, but its warranty terms apply whichever comes first: the specified time period or TBW limit. Terms and coverage can vary by jurisdiction, and the manufacturer lists exclusions including some incompatible hardware configurations and environmental or settings-related damage. Check the warranty terms that apply where you live; the five-year figure is not unconditional.

What independent thermal testing found
LinuxLinks reviewed a graphene-equipped sample supplied by TEAMGROUP and reported results from its own systems. In sustained writes, it recorded 56°C in a desktop at 28.1°C ambient temperature and 69°C in a compact Minisforum M2 system. The compact-PC result was close to TEAMGROUP’s stated 70°C operating ceiling. LinuxLinks did not observe a clear sustained write-throughput collapse corresponding to severe thermal throttling, but advised paying attention to cooling during prolonged heavy writes in the compact system. These are observations from that reviewer’s hardware and workload, not temperatures or performance guarantees for other machines. See the LinuxLinks review and test details.
What is known about the review sample’s components
Tom’s Hardware reported that its 2TB sample was double-sided and used an InnoGrit IG5236 controller, DDR4 DRAM, and YMTC 232-layer TLC NAND. These are observations about that review sample, not a promise that every production lot will use the same components. Its sample-specific findings are useful context, but do not replace the manufacturer’s capacity, interface, speed, or endurance specifications.

Who should consider the G70 PRO 2TB?
- It may suit you if your system supports PCIe/NVMe M.2 storage, you want a 2TB drive with DRAM cache, and the chosen heatsink configuration fits.
- Check more carefully if installing it in a compact PC or laptop that has limited clearance or sustained heavy-write workloads. The reported compact-system temperature illustrates how strongly host cooling can matter.
- Look elsewhere or verify first if your M.2 slot is SATA-only, your system cannot accommodate the selected heatsink, or your purchase decision depends on real-world performance in a workload not represented by the published maximums.
