TDK announced on October 3, 2024, that Joseph Bousaba had become InvenSense CEO and general manager of TDK’s MEMS Sensors Business Group, succeeding Omar Abed. TDK said Abed left those two roles effective October 1 for personal reasons. The company’s management page, checked October 1, 2026, lists Bousaba as CEO and group general manager and Abed as CTO.
Who replaced Omar Abed as InvenSense CEO?
Joseph Bousaba succeeded Abed as InvenSense CEO and general manager of TDK’s MEMS Sensors Business Group. TDK announced the appointment on October 3, 2024, and said Bousaba and Abed were coordinating the transition. The announcement’s headline described their aim as a “smooth transition to ensure continuity for partners and employees”; that is TDK’s stated intent, not a report of measured results.
TDK’s October 3, 2024 announcement identifies Bousaba as the incoming leader of both InvenSense and the MEMS Sensors Business Group.
Why did Omar Abed leave the CEO and general manager roles?
TDK said Abed stepped down from both positions effective October 1, 2024, for personal reasons. The announcement also said he planned to return to TDK in a new position in 2025. That was a plan reported at the time; the cited announcement does not establish whether it happened or identify any position he may have taken afterward.

Who leads InvenSense and TDK’s MEMS Sensors Business Group now?
TDK’s management page, checked October 1, 2026, lists Bousaba as InvenSense CEO and general manager of the MEMS Sensors Business Group, and Abed as CTO. This is the company’s current published listing as of that check and could change later.
What experience did Joseph Bousaba bring to the role?
TDK said Bousaba had been InvenSense’s chief business officer before his appointment. The company described his prior Qualcomm role as vice president of Consumer IoT and Smart Home, and noted earlier executive experience at Qualcomm Atheros and Philips Semiconductors, now NXP. His company biography also says he joined TDK in 2019 and held several TDK leadership positions before becoming CEO. These career details are TDK’s descriptions.

How the leadership changes fit InvenSense’s history
TDK completed its acquisition of InvenSense on May 18, 2017, making it a wholly owned subsidiary. TDK framed the deal as expanding its sensor and software portfolio in support of its sensor strategy; the 2024 leadership announcement did not announce a strategy change.
