The “47% off” headline referred to a historical November 8, 2024 offer on TCL’s 98-inch Q65 QLED TV, model 98Q651G—not a confirmed deal available now. HotHardware reported a $1,598 Amazon price and described it as 47% off; its article also listed the TV at $1,599.99 at Best Buy. Those prices and the “while supply lasts” wording describe the 2024 report, not present-day availability.
Is the TCL 98-inch TV really 47% off?
HotHardware’s November 8, 2024 article called the reported $1,598 Amazon offer “47% off.” That is the publication’s characterization of the deal; the article does not establish that TCL’s MSRP was the exact comparison price behind that percentage. TCL’s May 2024 launch announcement listed a $3,999.99 MSRP for model 98Q651G. Comparing $1,598 directly with that MSRP yields a reduction of about 60%, not 47%, so the figures should not be treated as a single verified calculation. HotHardware’s deal report and TCL’s launch announcement provide the respective claims.
How much was the TCL 98-inch Q65 at Amazon?
HotHardware reported that Amazon’s price was $1,598 on November 8, 2024. The same article reported a $1,599.99 Best Buy price. These are historical prices, not current listings or evidence that either retailer has the model in stock today. The article’s “while supply lasts” phrase applied to the offer at the time.

It is TCL’s 98-inch Q Class 4K QLED smart TV, sold as the Q65. TCL’s U.S. product page lists Google TV, four HDMI inputs including one eARC input, and support for Dolby Vision, HDR10+, HDR10, and HLG. The manufacturer says the 85- and 98-inch Q65 versions have a 120Hz panel; its product specifications list variable refresh rate up to 144Hz. TCL’s launch announcement also used the name “Game Accelerator 240” for a gaming feature. That marketing label is distinct from the product page’s up-to-144Hz VRR specification. These are manufacturer-provided specifications and claims, not independent test results. TCL’s 98Q651G product page lists the current specifications.

Will a 98-inch TV fit through my doorway?
Measure the full delivery route before ordering: the doorway, hallway turns, stairs, elevator, and the space where the TV will be installed. TCL lists the set at 85.8 inches wide and 49.1 inches high without its stand. With the stand, it is 85.8 inches wide, 50.8 inches high, and 16.5 inches deep. The stand feet are 68.5 inches apart, so a cabinet must provide suitable support across that span.
TCL lists the TV at 120.2 pounds without the stand and 124.6 pounds with it. Its shipping package is listed as 94.3 by 61.2 by 10.0 inches and 202.6 pounds. Those measurements help with planning, but they cannot establish that the boxed TV will pass through a particular home; check the actual route and coordinate delivery and handling accordingly. Dimensions and weights are from TCL’s product specifications.

What wall mount fits a TCL 98Q651G?
TCL lists a 500 × 600 mm VESA mounting pattern and a weight of 120.2 pounds without the stand. Those figures are a starting point, not a recommendation for a particular mount. Before buying, confirm that the mount supports the exact VESA pattern, the TV’s size, and its weight, and make sure the wall and installation can safely carry the load. TCL’s specifications do not validate any specific mount.

No. The 2024 article does not show what the 98Q651G costs or whether it is available now. A later model is not interchangeable evidence: Best Buy’s page for the 2025 TCL 98QM7K listed $1,999.99 and marked that model unavailable in the page context represented by the cited listing. That volatile listing says nothing definitive about broader availability, and the QM7K is a different TV from the Q65. Best Buy’s 98QM7K page concerns that later model only.
