TCL introduced its NXTPAPER 4.0 display technology and the NXTPAPER 11 Plus tablet at CES 2025. The 11.5-inch Android tablet combines a 2.2K 120Hz screen, MediaTek Helio G100 processor, large battery and TCL’s paper-like, glare-reducing display approach. Full specifications followed at Mobile World Congress, and the tablet reached U.S. retail in August 2025.
What TCL announced at CES 2025
TCL’s January 6, 2025 CES announcement positioned NXTPAPER 4.0 as the company’s latest display generation and introduced the NXTPAPER 11 Plus tablet.
What NXTPAPER 4.0 changes
TCL says NXTPAPER 4.0 combines circularly polarized light and blue-light purification with nano-matrix lithography in the etching process. The stated goals are a clearer image, less reflected glare and a more comfortable viewing experience.

TCL’s exact description was: “Unlike the previous versions, NXTPAPER 4.0 employs the advanced nano-matrix lithography technology in its etching process, greatly enhancing display clarity.”

Handwriting and writing assistance
Write in Text Fields converts handwriting to typed text in supported fields, with TCL stating latency below 5ms. Text Assist can rewrite, translate or summarize text. Writing Assist is intended for tasks such as drafting an email or planning an event.

Search, recording and translation
Circle to Search with Google works with a finger or the T-Pen. Smart Voice Memo can record and transcribe a discussion, produce a summary and generate a mind map. Smart Translator handles voice, text and images, while real-time subtitles can translate video dialogue.

Does the U.S. set include a pen and case?
Yes. TCL’s U.S. “NXTPAPER 11 Plus Set” includes the tablet, a stylus and a flip case. Buyers choosing another regional configuration should check that market’s box contents, because the bundle described on TCL’s U.S. page is the evidence for those included accessories.

What TCL’s eye-comfort claims mean
Reduced glare, blue-light reduction and improved comfort are TCL’s product-design claims. The published CES and U.S. materials describe the display technology and intended experience, but they do not provide an independent clinical study quantifying reduced eye strain.

That means NXTPAPER 4.0 should not be presented as preventing or treating an eye condition. Comfortable viewing still depends on brightness, ambient lighting, viewing distance, breaks and the individual user.

Is the NXTPAPER 11 Plus good for reading and note-taking?
Why it suits those jobs on paper
- The 11.5-inch 2.2K panel provides a large page area, while 120Hz should make scrolling and pen movement appear smoother than a 60Hz screen.
- ΔE<1 and 100% sRGB support accurate color for documents, illustrations and web content.
- The 550-nit sunlight-display rating is useful when reading in bright environments.
- An 8,000mAh battery, four speakers and a 490g body make it practical as a general-purpose media and reading tablet.
- The included stylus and flip case in the U.S. set remove two common accessory purchases.
Important limitations
- The Helio G100 is a mainstream tablet processor; the published specifications do not establish flagship performance for demanding games or heavy creative applications.
- Write in Text Fields works only in supported fields, and TCL’s sub-5ms figure is a manufacturer claim rather than an independent latency test.
- The display’s comfort benefits have not been independently quantified in the cited materials.
- Accessory inclusion and pricing depend on the region and retailer.
Who should consider it
- Readers and students: a high-resolution, 120Hz screen, sunlight mode and large battery address everyday documents, books and web research.
- Note-takers: the stylus bundle and handwriting-to-text tools are useful if your apps expose supported text fields.
- AI-assisted workers: transcription, summaries, translation and writing tools are built into TCL’s software feature set.
- Buyers seeking a paper-like display: NXTPAPER 4.0 is designed around glare and blue-light reduction, but the comfort result is personal and not a medical guarantee.
The NXTPAPER 11 Plus is therefore best understood as a mid-range Android tablet whose main differentiator is TCL’s display treatment and software toolkit, not top-tier processing power.
