The TCL 75P7K is the 75-inch model in TCL’s P7K QLED television family. TCL describes it as a 4K Google TV with HDR10+, Dolby Vision, Dolby Atmos and Chromecast built in. Those are manufacturer claims, and they vary by market. No independent, measured review of the 75-inch set is available to cite. The one independent review in this family tests the 43-inch model, so it cannot tell you how the 75-inch performs on brightness, contrast, motion or gaming.

This article separates what TCL claims for the 75-inch, where the regional specifications differ, and what the 43-inch review does and does not tell you. It ends with a practical way to decide whether the set fits your room and budget.

What TCL says the 75P7K includes

TCL publishes separate product pages and specification sheets for each market. The feature lists overlap but are not identical, and TCL warns that specifications, certifications and features vary by model, size and region and can change without notice. The table below sets out what each published source states. Where a source is silent, the cell says so.

TCL New Zealand product page (New Zealand) QLED, 4K Ultra HD HDR10+, Dolby Vision ALLM Dolby Atmos Google TV, Chromecast built in RRP NZ$2,999 at the time of writing; prices change, so confirm on the page
TCL UK specification sheet, version 1.0, issued 8 November 2024 (UK variant 75P7K-UK/R75PG1S-EU/CS9W1U) 3840×2160 resolution, 350-nit typical brightness, 93% typical DCI-P3 gamut Not stated 60 Hz refresh, VRR up to 120 Hz, DLG 120 Hz 2×15 W speakers HDMI inputs described as versions 1.4, 2.0 and 2.1 Not stated

Two points follow from the table. First, the New Zealand and UK pages describe the same 75-inch size but list different features. Second, the UK sheet names one specific variant, so its numbers should not be read as applying to every 75P7K sold elsewhere.

The UK specification sheet, line by line

The UK sheet is the most detailed published specification for the 75-inch P7K, so it is worth reading closely. Each figure below comes from that sheet and applies to that variant only.

  • 3840×2160 resolution. This is 4K UHD, the standard for a 75-inch panel at this price tier.
  • 350-nit typical brightness. The word “typical” matters. This is a typical value, not a peak measurement, and the sheet does not give test conditions.
  • 93% typical DCI-P3 gamut. This describes how much of the DCI-P3 colour space the panel covers, again as a typical figure from the manufacturer.
  • 60 Hz refresh, VRR up to 120 Hz and DLG 120 Hz. The native refresh rate is 60 Hz. The sheet markets variable refresh rate up to 120 Hz and a 120 Hz mode labelled DLG. Marketing labels like these do not show how well the set handles fast motion or gaming input lag in practice.
  • 2×15 W speakers. The sheet gives the speaker count and output but no sound-quality measurements.
  • HDMI 1.4, 2.0 and 2.1. The sheet describes these HDMI versions. It does not state how many ports carry each version.

Sheet version 1.0 was issued on 8 November 2024. Manufacturers revise these documents, so check the current version on your country’s support page before relying on any figure.

What the independent review found, and why it applies only in part

What Hi-Fi? includes an expert review of the 43-inch TCL P7K in its 2026 budget-TV guide. The review reports that the 43-inch set has a QLED or quantum-dot LCD panel, 4K resolution, Google TV, HLG, HDR10, HDR10+ and Dolby Vision support, and three HDMI inputs. It does not include 4K at 120 Hz, VRR, ALLM, eARC or optical output.

On the positive side, the review praises the picture quality for the price, the HDR format support and the streaming-app support. On the negative side, it reports some backlight “jetting”, processing limitations, restricted viewing angles and weaker upscaling. It also says dialogue can recede and action scenes can sound thin, and it recommends a soundbar or dedicated sound system.

The reviewer’s summary line is: What Hi-Fi? writes, “The 43-inch TCL P7K is here to prove that you don’t even need to pay £500 to get a decent TV.” That line is about the 43-inch set and should be quoted with that scope.

The 43-inch and 75-inch specifications differ in several places, so the review’s limitations should not be assumed to carry over.

The practical lesson is that the 43-inch review is a useful warning about the P7K family’s sound, backlight and viewing-angle behaviour. It cannot confirm those behaviours for the 75-inch panel, and the 75-inch sheet’s refresh-rate features are not tested anywhere in the sources behind this article.

Apps and services vary by country, so a streaming service available in the UK may be missing in New Zealand or India. Check the app list for your country before you buy, particularly if you rely on one specific service.

Manuals, support and placement

TCL Europe’s support page lists model-specific documents for the P7K family, including a product information sheet, a declaration of conformity, a user manual and a power label. The listings are dated 18 March 2025. Use the support page for your own country to find the correct manual, because documents differ by market and suffix.

Two optional accessories are worth considering, with some caveats:

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.
  • Soundbar or dedicated speakers. The 43-inch review recommends this for its smaller model’s sound. Whether the 75-inch needs one depends on your tolerance for thin dialogue, and that has not been tested for the 75-inch set.
  • VESA wall mount. The UK sheet lists wall mounting as an option. Before buying a bracket, check the VESA pattern, the set’s weight and the included stand or feet against the model’s documentation for your market.

Is the 75P7K worth buying?

Readers often ask whether the TCL 75P7K is worth it. The answer depends on your market’s price and on how you will use the set, and the published evidence can support only part of that decision.

Consider the 75P7K if:

  • You want a 75-inch 4K screen with HDR10+ and Dolby Vision, and Google TV is your preferred interface.
  • The price in your market is clearly below comparable 75-inch sets with similar listed specifications.
  • Your viewing distance and room suit a large 4K panel, and you are willing to add a soundbar if needed.

Wait, or compare more carefully, if:

  • Gaming matters to you. The 75-inch set’s VRR and 120 Hz features appear on the UK sheet, but no independent measurement of input lag or motion handling for the 75-inch model is available.
  • Picture contrast and brightness in a bright room are your priorities. The UK sheet’s 350-nit figure is a typical value without test conditions.
  • You need a specific feature the sheet does not state, such as eARC, or a particular number of HDMI 2.1 ports.
  • You plan to rely on built-in sound. The only independent comment on sound in this family concerns the 43-inch model.

When comparing the 75P7K with alternatives, use the same measures for each: price in the same market, screen size and viewing distance, native refresh rate versus VRR or DLG labels, HDR support and listed brightness, viewing-angle needs, gaming features, built-in audio versus external sound, and the warranty and support terms for your country.
