Android Authority reported that Amazon offered the 256GB TCL 60 XE NXTPAPER 5G for $189.98 during Prime Day on October 6, 2026, with Prime required. Its article described that as the lowest price it had seen this year—not a verified all-time low. TCL’s US product page displayed $169.99 the next day, but its live listing offers both 128GB and 256GB models, and the selected configuration behind that price is not established here. Check the current price, storage option, seller, and Prime requirement before buying.
Was $190 really the lowest price ever?
Not on the evidence available. Android Authority’s October 6, 2026 article reported a $189.98 Amazon Prime Day price for the 256GB model and said it was the lowest price the publication had seen that year. Although its headline used “lowest price ever,” the article body supports only the narrower, publication-attributed claim; no historical price series establishes an all-time record. Android Authority’s report also identified $284.98 as the reference price and described the offer as 33% off, or $95 in savings, against that RRP.
How does that offer compare with TCL’s listed price?
TCL’s US product page displayed $169.99 when accessed October 7, 2026. That live listing includes 128GB and 256GB versions, but the price observation does not establish which one was selected. It is therefore not a verified like-for-like comparison with the $189.98 Amazon price for the 256GB model. Prices and availability can change; check the storage selection and final checkout price at both retailers before deciding.
TCL’s US product page is also the primary reference for the phone’s specifications. The $169.99 figure is a listing observed on October 7, not an independent market average or a guarantee that the price remains available.

What is NXTPAPER and how does Max Ink Mode work?
TCL describes NXTPAPER as display technology designed to reduce glare and filter blue light. The phone also has a dedicated NXTPAPER Key that activates Max Ink Mode, TCL’s reading mode. Those display and eye-comfort benefits are the manufacturer’s claims; they have not been independently tested here. TCL’s North American launch announcement called the key a way to make the display technology more user-friendly.

- Confirm that the offer is still live. The $189.98 Amazon price was reported for Prime Day on October 6, 2026; it may no longer be available.
- Verify that the listing is for the 256GB model. TCL’s product page lists both 128GB and 256GB versions.
- Compare the total current price at Amazon and TCL, including any conditions shown at checkout. The reported Amazon offer required Prime.
- Check the seller and exact model on the live retailer listing before placing an order.
- If you need more space, factor in the cost of a microSD card; it is sold separately, and TCL lists support up to 2TB.
