Verizon lists the TCL 50 LE Prepaid at a $79.99 total device cost, plus applicable taxes and fees. This is a basic 4G LTE Android 14 phone with a 6.6-inch HD+ 90 Hz display, 4 GB of RAM, 64 GB of internal storage, and microSD expansion up to 512 GB. Confirm the live price, stock, taxes, and purchase eligibility before ordering because Verizon offers can change.
What the $79.99 Verizon offer includes
Verizon’s listing identifies the phone as the TCL 50 LE Prepaid, in Storm Gray, with 64 GB of storage. The listed SKU is TCL-T510SPP. The $79.99 figure is the total device cost shown when checked in 2026; taxes and fees are additional. It should be treated as a dated offer snapshot rather than a permanent price guarantee.

4G LTE, not 5G
The TCL 50 LE is a 4G LTE device. Verizon lists LTE and roaming-band information but does not list 5G connectivity for this model. Do not assume that “50” in the model name means 5G.
#1 Best Overall
Verizon’s prepaid TCL category separately lists the TCL 50 XE 5G. If 5G is important, compare that model’s current price and specifications directly rather than treating the LE as a 5G phone.
Display, performance, and storage
90 Hz HD+ screen
The 6.6-inch HD+ panel has a stated 90 Hz refresh rate. A higher refresh rate can make supported scrolling and animations look smoother, while the HD+ resolution is a budget-oriented compromise rather than a high-resolution flagship display.
Entry-level processing
The MediaTek G36 is listed as an octa-core processor at 2.2 GHz, paired with 4 GB of RAM. Those are product specifications, not independent benchmark results. Expect the phone to target everyday tasks such as calls, messaging, web browsing, maps, social apps, and light media use; demanding games and heavy multitasking may be less suitable.
64 GB internal memory plus microSD
Verizon lists 64 GB of internal storage. The operating system and preinstalled apps use part of that capacity, so usable space will be lower. A compatible microSD card can expand storage to a stated maximum of 512 GB. Verizon does not list a card in the box, making it an optional purchase.
Cameras: verify the front-camera specification
The listing gives the rear setup as a 13 MP camera with a 2 MP depth camera and lists 1080p video at 30 fps. However, Verizon’s overview copy says the front camera is 8 MP while its specification table says 13 MP. Because the same listing conflicts, do not use either number as definitive when camera resolution is a deciding factor. Verify the front-camera specification with current TCL documentation before buying.
Battery, charging, and included accessories
The TCL 50 LE has a listed 4,000 mAh battery and supports fast charging. No independent battery-life test or measured endurance figure is established here, so actual runtime will depend on signal strength, display settings, apps, and usage.
Verizon says the package includes:
- 9V/2A charger
- USB-C cable
- Quick-start guide
- Product safety information
- Terms and conditions
A 3.5 mm headphone jack is also reported in Verizon’s answer to a customer question. A microSD card is not listed among the included items.
Android version and update status
Verizon identifies Android 14 for the phone. Its TCL 50 LE software-update page records System Update 10, version 9KFF, released July 15, 2026, with the June 2026 Android security patch level. Verizon describes that update as providing performance improvements and current Android security patches for the device.
This is the latest dated update entry identified for this article, not a promise of a particular future update schedule or support duration.
Parts and service support
TCL’s US end-of-life support statement says TCL Communications Technology (Shenzhen) Co., Ltd. will support replacement parts and/or services for a minimum of three years after production ends for the TCL 50 LE (T510SP/T510D). Listed parts include the battery, cameras, SIM tray, battery cover, display assembly, connectors, microphone, receiver, and audio jack.
TCL does not state the phone’s end-of-production date on that page, so the three-year commitment cannot be converted into a specific calendar end date. TCL also provides English and Spanish user manuals on its support-download page.
How to judge the TCL 50 LE against another prepaid phone
Use these comparisons rather than price alone:
- Network generation: confirm whether the alternative is 4G LTE or 5G.
- Storage: compare internal capacity and the maximum supported microSD size.
- Cameras: check the exact camera configuration and resolve conflicting specifications.
- Battery: compare capacity and any clearly stated endurance claim; do not treat capacity as a guaranteed runtime.
- Screen: compare display size, resolution, and refresh rate.
- Total purchase cost: include taxes, fees, activation or line conditions, and the current device price.
The TCL 50 XE 5G is a natural Verizon-listed comparison because it adds 5G, but its current price and details should be checked at the time of purchase.
Quick Recap
Who should buy it?
A reasonable choice for
- Buyers seeking a low upfront Verizon Prepaid phone for basic communication and everyday apps.
- Users who value a large 6.6-inch screen and 90 Hz refresh rate at a budget price.
- People who want a headphone jack or expandable storage.
Look elsewhere if
- You require 5G connectivity.
- You need extensive internal storage without buying a microSD card.
- Camera quality or a confirmed front-camera resolution is central to your decision.
- You expect documented long-term update dates or independent performance and battery testing.
What to check before checkout
- Confirm that the live Verizon listing still shows the TCL 50 LE at $79.99.
- Review taxes, fees, stock, activation, line, and eligibility requirements.
- Verify that 4G LTE meets your coverage and network needs; select a separately listed 5G model if necessary.
- Decide whether you need a microSD card, since one is not listed in the box.
- For selfie-camera requirements, verify whether the correct specification is 8 MP or 13 MP using authoritative TCL information.
- Review Verizon’s unlocking policy and the terms presented for your purchase; the product listing does not by itself resolve every unlocking-eligibility question.
