Tainted Grail: The Fall of Avalon has a new free DLC: Fists of Fury, listed on Steam with a release date of 1 October 2026. It adds a questline, fist-boosting gear, and a weapon type designed to let players fight with their fists while technically armed—aiming to make unarmed combat a viable build.
What Fists of Fury adds
The official Steam listing describes three additions centered on fist combat:
- A new questline: A hermit in the Horns of the South offers it.
- Fist-boosting gear: Equipment intended to support the unarmed approach.

The listing presents the DLC as a way to make unarmed combat a viable build. How the fist build fits the game
Tainted Grail: The Fall of Avalon is a mature, first-person open-world RPG inspired by Arthurian legends. Its story is set 600 years after King Arthur’s fall. The existing combat options listed on Steam include melee weapons, shields, bows, magic, throwables, and mixtures, making fist-focused combat a distinct alternative rather than a replacement for the game’s other systems. Fists of Fury is separate from the paid expansion
Fists of Fury is free content. Sanctuary of Sarras, described by Steam as the game’s first full-fledged expansion, is a separate paid product. Some publisher-store editions bundle the base game with that expansion, so check the edition contents before buying if you only want the new free fist-combat content. Steam’s DLC listings distinguish the free DLC from the paid expansion; the publisher storefront lists its editions and packages.
What is confirmed about the October update
The accessible official DLC listing confirms the release date and features of Fists of Fury, but it does not provide a complete change list for patch 1.30. An official Steam announcement archive search result identifies an announcement titled “Free DLC Fists of Fury + Patch 1.30” and mentions Xbox Play Anywhere support; the full announcement details are not available in the accessible listing. For historical context, the official 20 July 2026 announcement covers Bonus Content #4 and patch 1.25, including archery and sorcery equipment and playstyles, an Ultra+ graphics preset, and a new romance option.
