The opportunity to apply for T-Mobile’s Starlink-backed satellite-cell beta has ended. T-Mobile launched the commercial service, called T-Satellite, on July 23, 2025. If you want to use satellite connectivity now, check T-Mobile’s current service page for enrollment, plan eligibility, supported phones, features, and terms: T-Mobile T-Satellite.
Can you still apply for the Starlink satellite cell beta?
No. T-Mobile’s beta registration was a 2025 trial, not an application program that is currently open. T-Mobile’s original announcement directed people to register through its satellite-service page; that historical sign-up route is not a way to join an active beta today. The company later reported nearly 2 million beta sign-ups, including customers from AT&T and Verizon.
T-Mobile’s live service page may still show older beta-era wording about rolling admission or free beta access alongside information about the commercial service. For present-day availability and enrollment, use the page’s current T-Satellite details rather than treating those old beta references as an open application.
What replaced the beta?
T-Mobile launched T-Satellite commercially on July 23, 2025. The beta was an early trial: its initial experience focused on text messaging through a phone’s native messaging app, while voice and data were described as future additions. That initial beta scope should not be taken as a full description of the commercial service, whose available features may have changed.

What you need to check before using T-Satellite
- Your phone: Review T-Mobile’s current supported-device list. Do not assume an older beta-compatible phone supports every commercial feature.
- Your plan and enrollment: Confirm eligibility and any current service charges on T-Mobile’s page; the beta’s postpaid-plan condition does not establish today’s requirements.
- The feature you need: Check current availability for messaging, data, or other functions instead of relying on the beta’s initial text-only description.
In August 2025, T-Mobile named Google Pixel 10 as the first handset for its satellite-data feature. That is a dated example, not a requirement for ordinary T-Satellite messaging or a recommendation to upgrade; verify current device support before making a decision.
