No. The free T-Mobile Starlink beta was a 2025 offer, not a current signup opportunity. T-Mobile now sells the service as T-Satellite, powered by Starlink: it is included with Experience Beyond plans and is listed at a limited-time price of $10 per line per month for other T-Mobile customers and non-T-Mobile customers. The original beta announcement said free access would run through July 2025, so the old “sign up right now” claim is out of date.
Can I still sign up for the free beta?
No. T-Mobile announced the beta on February 9, 2025, and said customers on any carrier could register for free access until July. That was a time-limited beta offer, not the current enrollment route. T-Mobile’s current service is called T-Satellite. T-Mobile’s beta announcement
How much does T-Satellite cost now?
T-Mobile currently lists T-Satellite as included with its Experience Beyond plan. For other T-Mobile plans, the listed add-on price is $10 per line per month. Customers who use another carrier can also enroll for a listed $10 per month. T-Mobile describes the $10 price as limited-time, so confirm the current terms and eligibility on its T-Satellite service page before signing up.

T-Mobile says, “Most smartphones from the last 4 years work with T-Satellite,” but that is not a guarantee that every recent phone is supported. Check the exact model using T-Mobile’s compatibility checker before relying on the service or buying a replacement phone. T-Mobile’s compatibility information

Can I use satellite messaging when I have no cell service?
With a compatible, enrolled phone, T-Satellite is designed to connect automatically when regular cellular service is unavailable; T-Mobile says no settings changes are needed. Messaging is supported, along with selected apps optimized for the service. T-Mobile lists WhatsApp voice chat, AllTrails, Google Maps, T-Life, and Overwatch x Rescue as examples. This is not unrestricted satellite broadband: data speeds are limited, not all apps are supported, and an app may behave differently than it does on cellular.
Where does T-Satellite work?
T-Mobile describes coverage in the continental United States, Puerto Rico, Hawaii, parts of southern Alaska, and a growing number of international destinations. The service page also names Canada, New Zealand, and Japan. Coverage depends on location and can change, so use T-Mobile’s live coverage map to check a specific address or travel route rather than assuming service throughout a listed region. A clear view of the sky can improve the signal.

What are the service limits and emergency options?
- Messages may be slower: delivery can take longer while a phone transfers between moving satellites.
- Connection gaps can occur: T-Mobile notes that coverage gaps and timeouts are possible, and performance varies.
- App support is selective: some apps may not work or may work differently over satellite than on a cellular connection.
- Satellite emergency access is text-only: T-Mobile describes Text to 911 by satellite, not satellite voice calling. Availability, delivery time, and location accuracy can be limited; a message may sometimes route to a national response center instead of local 911. Do not treat it as a guaranteed emergency connection or a replacement for an emergency plan.
