The likely product intended by “AOC-A100-m2CM” is Supermicro’s AOC-A100G-m2CM—note the “G” after 100. Supermicro identifies it as an AIOM adapter using NVIDIA’s ConnectX-6 Dx controller, not an OCP 3.0 card. Confirm the SKU on the card label or in the server configuration before using this review to plan an installation.
What the AOC-A100G-m2CM is
Supermicro documents the AOC-A100G-m2CM as a dual-port 100GbE AIOM network adapter built around the ConnectX-6 Dx controller. Its listed host interface is PCIe Gen4 x16, and it has two QSFP28 connectors. These are manufacturer specifications, not independently measured throughput results. Supermicro’s product page lists RDMA over Converged Ethernet (RoCE), VXLAN, NVGRE, Geneve, asset-management features including a thermal sensor, and NC-SI remote management; it also specifies no cryptography.
Supermicro’s manual describes additional networking and storage functions, including RoCE v1/v2, RoCE over overlays, zero-touch RoCE, a programmable congestion-control interface, GPUDirect, NVMe over Fabric target offloads, iSER, NFSoRDMA, SMB Direct, and NVMe-oF. These are feature capabilities, not a guarantee that every function is available in every configuration: NVIDIA notes that feature availability depends on driver and firmware releases. Check the applicable ConnectX-6 Dx datasheet and release notes for the software stack you intend to use.
Is it an OCP 3.0 NIC?
No—not according to the cited Supermicro documentation. It calls the AOC-A100G-m2CM an AIOM adapter. NVIDIA separately documents ConnectX-6 Dx cards made for the OCP Spec 3.0 form factor; that shared controller name does not make those cards physically identical or interchangeable. NVIDIA’s OCP ConnectX-6 Dx documentation describes separate SFF OCP cards, including 100GbE variants with dual QSFP56 connectors and PCIe Gen4 x16, and notes the need for adequate PCIe slot power.

Before considering either card for a system, compare the actual form factor and slot, bracket and retention method, connector type, port configuration, power requirements, and server qualification. A QSFP56 connector description on an OCP variant should not be read as evidence that it is the same connector configuration as this Supermicro AIOM card’s listed QSFP28 ports. The available product documents do not establish drop-in compatibility.
AOC-A100G-m2CM vs. AOC-A100G-m2CG
The suffix matters: Supermicro documents different bracket configurations and target fits for these two related SKUs.

Bracket and system-fit details are from Supermicro’s datasheet/manual. Do not choose between the suffixes based only on the controller or port speed; verify the bracket and server configuration.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors2Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute3Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsWill it work in your Supermicro server?
The published material does not provide a complete compatibility list covering every Supermicro server. The product page establishes the adapter’s form factor and interface, but that alone does not prove a particular chassis has the correct supported slot or firmware and driver combination. Check the exact system documentation or support matrix before purchase or installation.
- Confirm the card identity. Read the hardware label or server configuration and distinguish AOC-A100G-m2CM from m2CG, an OCP 3.0 card, or another ConnectX-6 Dx model.
- Check the server slot and fit. Confirm that the exact system supports the AIOM adapter and the relevant add-on slot, and that the card’s bracket suits the chassis.
- Verify platform and software support. Check BIOS/firmware and operating-system driver support, then confirm the firmware and driver releases needed for any RoCE, GPUDirect, or storage-offload feature you plan to use.
- Match the network connection. Confirm the switch port speed and the QSFP28 cable or optic type required for the link medium and distance. The cited materials do not establish a model-specific compatible accessory list.
- Validate the intended workload. For RoCE or storage functions, check support across the adapter, driver, firmware, operating system, and network configuration rather than relying on a hardware feature list alone.
Availability and purchase notes
Supermicro’s datasheet describes the card as sold only as part of an integrated server solution; the product page directs buyers to contact a distributor and says, “This product is only available through Supermicro.” Those statements describe the manufacturer’s stated sales channel; they do not establish current inventory, a current price, or whether a particular standalone or third-party listing is genuine. Confirm the exact SKU and terms with Supermicro or an authorized distributor before ordering.

The AOC-A100G-m2CM is a documented two-port 100GbE ConnectX-6 Dx adapter for Supermicro’s AIOM form factor, with a substantial networking and storage feature set subject to software support. It is not established as an OCP 3.0 NIC, and the available evidence does not support a universal compatibility or drop-in substitution claim. Its practical suitability depends on confirming the exact card, server fit, and required driver and firmware support.
