Superhuman opened a new office at 1000 Dexter Ave. N. in Seattle’s South Lake Union neighborhood on October 6, 2026. The 13,501-square-foot space began with 50 workstations and can accommodate up to 80 people, according to GeekWire. The opening adds to a cluster of AI-company activity in the Seattle region, though the available examples do not establish the scale or economic impact of a broader trend.
What Superhuman opened in Seattle
The new office is at 1000 Dexter Ave. N. in South Lake Union, Seattle. GeekWire reported that the company opened the 13,501-square-foot location on October 6, 2026, after moving from coworking space. The lease had been reported earlier, on June 23, 2026, by the Puget Sound Business Journal, which described the site as near Seattle’s AI hub and cited Class A office space, affordable rents, and technical talent as factors in the location decision.
Superhuman is the company’s name, not just the email app’s. Grammarly acquired the Superhuman email app in July 2025 and renamed the entire company Superhuman in October 2025, as GeekWire reported.

Office capacity is not the same as headcount
GeekWire reported that the office opened with 50 workstations and could accommodate up to 80 people. A Superhuman spokesperson separately told the publication that the company had about 96 hub-based employees in Seattle and planned about 10 additional roles that year. The figures describe different measures: workstations at opening, maximum office capacity, reported Seattle hub staffing, and planned hiring. The reporting does not explain how employees are scheduled across workspaces, so the office capacity should not be read as the company’s total Seattle headcount.

What Superhuman says about hiring
The company said it planned to continue hiring in Seattle, particularly in data engineering, data governance, and data science. At the time of GeekWire’s October 6 report, the company careers page listed 12 openings that could be based in Seattle, across areas including software engineering, site reliability, and product management. That 12-role figure is a point-in-time listing count, not a guarantee that all the jobs would be filled in Seattle or remain open.
How the opening fits the Seattle-region AI picture
GeekWire’s regional framing points to two other out-of-town AI companies active in the area: OpenAI in Bellevue and Anthropic in Seattle. Bellevue is a separate city from Seattle, so the examples describe activity across the region rather than a concentration exclusively within Seattle city limits.

There is broader economic context, but it does not establish that this office opening will change local employment or diversify the region’s economy. Axios reported on September 14, 2026, citing a city-commissioned analysis, that four companies accounted for 25% of Seattle software-engineer job postings and that the region had 23% of the nation’s AI engineers, second only to the Bay Area. Those figures concern job-posting concentration and the distribution of AI engineers, respectively; neither measures the effect of Superhuman’s new office.
