The Sunbeam CM2000 is designed to accept four capsule systems by swapping in a color-coded capsule holder and a matching pressure wall. Flexibility therefore depends on two things: having the correct hardware for each system, and checking that the specific capsule you buy fits that hardware. This review is based on the manufacturer’s instruction booklet (Sunbeam Corporation Limited, 2015). It is not hands-on testing, so it does not report on coffee quality, noise, durability or day-to-day reliability.
What the instruction booklet covers
The booklet is titled for the CM2000, CM2000R and CM2000W. This review does not separate those three suffixes, so check the model label on your unit before ordering accessories. The features the booklet lists are:
- A “19 BAR electromagnetic pump.” This is the manufacturer’s stated figure, not a measured result.
- Single and large cup selection buttons.
- A removable water tank.
- Automatic deposit of used capsules into a used-capsule container.
The booklet does not provide measurements of beverage temperature, extraction consistency, noise, durability or taste, so none of those points are claimed here.
Which capsule systems it accepts
The manual lists four systems. Each one uses its own capsule holder and pressure wall, and the two parts must share a color.

The manual warns that the machine will not work if the holder and pressure wall do not match. The system-level list does not mean every capsule sold under one of these brands will fit. The booklet also states that the trademark owners of these capsule systems have no connection with Sunbeam and have not endorsed the machine or its accessories.
Changing the capsule holder
The booklet describes the following changeover sequence. Its steps have not been timed in this review.

- Open the handle.
- Turn the capsule holder anti-clockwise to unlock it, then lift it out.
- Select the color-coded holder for the system you want and install it.
- Rotate the holder clockwise until it locks.
- Before closing the handle, match the pressure wall’s color to the holder.
- Confirm the holder is locked, then close the handle.
Cleaning and descaling
After-use cleaning
- Switch the machine off and unplug it before cleaning.
- Remove and rinse the drip tray and drip plate.
- Empty and wash the used-capsule container.
- Wipe stains with a soft damp cloth and a gentle, non-abrasive dish soap.
- Do not put machine parts in the dishwasher. The booklet states they are not dishwasher safe.
Descaling
The booklet recommends descaling once a month. It does not name a descaling product or approve a brand, so this article does not recommend one. If you choose a commercial descaler, pick one labeled for espresso machines and make sure its instructions do not conflict with the booklet.
Warranty and region
The booklet states a “12 Month Warranty” covering replacement or repair. It says this is in addition to rights under the Australian Consumer Law for Australian purchases, and the New Zealand Consumer Guarantees Act for New Zealand purchases. The booklet lists customer-service contacts for those two countries.

The booklet is dated 2015. Its warranty wording describes the terms at that time, not necessarily current terms. If you are buying a unit well after that date, buying a used unit, or buying outside Australia or New Zealand, check current Sunbeam warranty terms before relying on the 12-month period.

- Read the model label to confirm whether your unit is a CM2000, CM2000R or CM2000W.
- Identify which of the four systems the capsules belong to, and confirm you have that system’s color-coded holder and pressure wall.
- Check the specific capsule product and its region against your holder, rather than relying on the brand name alone.
- Confirm that replacement holders or pressure walls are available in your market. The manual does not establish this.
- Check current price and stock with a retailer. This review does not establish either.
The manual supports the CM2000’s four-system design and the color-matching rule. It does not establish that every capsule in those categories will work, and it does not provide independent performance data.
