Is this the Suikoden II story?
Yes. Konami identified the project as an anime adaptation of Suikoden II. The official site sets the story in the Dunan region. It follows Riliu and Jowy, two boy soldiers of the Highland Kingdom who are childhood friends. War pulls them in, and the series centers on their choices and the power they obtain.
Konami Animation announced on August 5, 2025 that the series was in production. In its words: “The broadcast period for ‘Suikoden : The Anime’, currently in production, has been officially set to start in 2026.”
