Subway is piloting its “After Dark” evening dining concept in the Netherlands. Starting at 6 p.m., participating restaurants shift to warmer lighting and an evening playlist, while digital menu boards feature a more indulgent, customizable menu that includes Mac ’n’ Cheese, footlong pizzas and loaded waffle fries. What is Subway After Dark?
After Dark is an evening dining concept within Subway’s Blueprint restaurant and brand experience for Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA). Rather than announcing a separate restaurant chain, Subway describes an evening change to the atmosphere and menu at participating locations. The company announced the Netherlands pilot on October 8, 2026. Subway’s announcement describes the concept as one of several new occasions intended to give guests more ways to use its restaurants.
When does the After Dark menu start?
The evening transition begins at 6 p.m., according to Subway’s announcement. At that time, participating restaurants switch to warmer lighting, an evening playlist, dedicated staff wardrobe and digital menu boards featuring the evening menu. The announcement does not specify how late After Dark service runs.
What food is on the Subway After Dark menu?
Subway named Mac ’n’ Cheese, footlong pizzas and loaded waffle fries as menu examples. The dishes are served made to order, alongside drinks and desserts. The announcement does not give item prices, ingredients, nutrition information, allergen details or specific customization options, so those details should be checked with a participating restaurant if they matter to your order.

Where is Subway testing After Dark, and will it come to other locations?
Subway says the current pilot is in the Netherlands. It has not published a firm schedule for expanding After Dark. The company says new occasions, including After Dark and Grab & Go, will be introduced according to individual sites and local demand.
Blueprint’s broader EMEA design rollout is related but separate: from January 1, 2027, every new Subway restaurant and remodel in the region is to be built to Blueprint. That does not mean each of those restaurants will offer After Dark; the company’s stated approach makes that decision dependent on the site and local demand. The announcement does not confirm a US launch or broader nationwide availability.

As of October 8, 2026, Subway had not announced prices or confirmed expansion beyond the test locations, according to Dexerto’s report published that day. The official announcement also provides no After Dark hours beyond the 6 p.m. start of the evening transition. Check with a local restaurant or a later Subway update for current availability and ordering details.
