There is no verified current Google announcement that a fix is rolling out for a phone-pairing problem with a “Googlebook.” The Google statement that matches the headline’s wording was posted in an Android Auto support thread on August 26, 2022—not about Chromebook pairing. It described a fix for an Android Auto issue after a software update that August.
What Google actually said about a fix rolling out
On August 26, 2022, Aanchal, identified on the Google Android Auto Community thread as an Android Auto Team Community Specialist, wrote: “The team has investigated this issue, and a fix is rolling out now. It may take a few days for the fix to reach everyone, so please let us know if you are still seeing this issue in a week. Thanks!” The thread concerns reports that Android Auto stopped working on car screens after an August 12, 2022 Android software update.
That statement was about Android Auto, and its rollout estimate was given at the time in 2022. It does not establish that Google is currently rolling out a fix for connecting a phone to a Chromebook.
Does Google’s Chromebook announcement confirm a pairing problem?
No. Google’s June 23, 2022 post, “Your Chromebook now works better with your other devices”, describes Phone Hub and other ways Chromebooks and Android devices can work together. It provides background on Google’s cross-device features; it does not report the pairing fault or a repair rollout described in the headline.

The available information also does not clarify what “Googlebook” refers to. If you mean a Chromebook, Phone Hub is the relevant Google feature mentioned in the Chromebook post, but that alone cannot identify why a particular phone will not connect or whether a fix is available for it.
What to do if your phone will not connect
Because the exact device, connection method, and current issue are not established, there is no verified troubleshooting step or product remedy to recommend for this specific claim. Check the exact product name and the Google support page or announcement for the feature you are trying to use. A general Chromebook feature announcement and an old Android Auto rollout notice are not evidence that a current Chromebook pairing fix is pending.
