The 83% positive-review figure and 50% Steam discount in the headline are historical: the rating was reported on October 7, 2026, and the sale ended October 8. Steam showed different review figures when its listing was retrieved on October 9, 2026.
What is Stranded: Alien Dawn?
Developed by Haemimont Games and published by Paradox Interactive, Stranded: Alien Dawn puts you in charge of a small group marooned on an alien planet. You manage the colony rather than control a lone character through a first-person survival adventure. Steam classifies it as a single-player simulation and strategy game. What do you do in the game?
The central challenge is keeping the group alive while building a functioning settlement. You gather food and materials, construct shelter and defenses, research technology, and manage survivors’ health and happiness. Disease, severe weather, alien wildlife, and story events can disrupt plans, so the colony’s needs and available skills have to be balanced as circumstances change. Survivors have distinct backstories, skills, and traits, which affect how the group can respond.

No. Notebookcheck reported 83% positive from 11,566 Steam reviews on October 7, 2026; that is a dated snapshot, not the rating Steam displayed later. When Steam’s listing was retrieved on October 9, it showed 82% positive across 5,684 English reviews and 81% positive among 65 recent reviews. Steam notes that it excluded review activity it considered off-topic from the score. Review totals and percentages can change. Notebookcheck’s October 7 report and Steam’s listing therefore reflect different dates and review counts, rather than a single fixed figure.

The reported US offer was $17.49, half off the stated $34.99 price, and ended October 8, 2026. It was no longer active on October 9. Prices and promotions vary by region and can change; check the Steam store for the current price in your region. Is it worth buying?
It may suit you if you enjoy managing a settlement and its people, planning around scarce supplies, and adapting to threats and changing conditions. The main appeal described by the game is the connected colony-management challenge: survival depends on resources and infrastructure as well as survivors’ differing skills and needs.
Before buying, check three things: the current price in your region, the current overall and recent Steam review snapshots, and whether your PC meets the listed requirements. The October 2026 discount has ended, and neither its price nor the review percentages should be treated as current without checking the live store listing.
