Stickeez was a small animated native-ad format announced by ironSource in February 2014 for its mobileCore platform. In April that year, ironSource said it had increased mobile ad revenue by 20% during its first two months—but the company did not publish the methods or data needed to verify that figure independently. Current sources do not establish whether Stickeez is still available.

What was Stickeez?

Stickeez was a mobile advertising format announced by ironSource on February 5, 2014, as part of its mobileCore platform. ironSource described it as a small, animated element intended to prompt users to take action. Developers could use images from a Stickeez gallery or incorporate their own in-app characters, giving the ad a visual connection to the app. ironSource’s launch announcement

The launch announcement listed Stickeez alongside AppWalls, Branded Interstitial Ads, Native Buttons, and In-Stream App Recommendations. That was mobileCore’s 2014 lineup, not a current catalog.

How did Stickeez work?

A developer selected the artwork and configured when the element appeared in the app. When a user clicked it, the ad opened a small layout containing mobileCore offers or sent the user directly to Google Play or another app store, where an app could be downloaded. Developers could monitor performance in the mobileCore Developers’ Panel. ironSource also said it could create custom branded Stickeez for advertisers. ironSource’s launch announcement

Did Stickeez really boost ad revenue by 20%?

That was ironSource’s reported result, not an independently verified finding. In an announcement dated April 16, 2014, the company said Stickeez had produced a 20% rise in mobile ad revenue during the format’s first two months. It also described a 20% increase in revenue from high-quality, non-incentivized traffic. The release did not provide a sample size, baseline, comparison group, measurement method, or independent validation, so the figure should be treated as a historical company claim—not a general performance guarantee or a present-day benchmark. ironSource’s April 2014 announcement

ironSource also said Stickeez had been adopted across more than half of mobileCore users. That, too, was an issuer-reported figure from 2014, not a current usage statistic. ironSource’s April 2014 announcement

Can developers still use Stickeez?

Current availability is not established by the sources available. Unity completed its merger with ironSource on November 7, 2022, and said game developers could use its LevelPlay mediation platform to monetize games. Unity’s merger announcement

Unity’s FAQ, last updated August 4, 2026, says ironSource Ads direct demand stopped serving campaigns on April 30, 2026. It says there were no planned changes to ironSource Exchange or programmatic campaigns and that LevelPlay remains supported. The FAQ does not mention Stickeez, so neither the direct-demand sunset nor LevelPlay’s supported status proves that Stickeez itself remains available, has been discontinued, or has been replaced. What the 20% claim means for developers

The reported result describes ironSource’s early experience with a particular ad format in its own platform, over a two-month launch period in 2014. Without the underlying data or methodology, it cannot tell a developer what revenue Stickeez—or any current ad product—would generate for a particular app. The launch materials explain how the unit was configured and clicked through, but do not establish its present-day availability or performance.
