ServeTheHome’s free weekly newsletter is a quick way to catch up on its server, storage, networking, market and review coverage without reading the site every day. A separate, paid Axautik Group Substack offers lower-volume, more detailed analysis for readers in finance and data-center infrastructure. This is a historical look at the offerings described in December 2024; STH was still describing both as active on September 5, 2026.

What the free STH weekly newsletter includes

In his December 21, 2024 article, ServeTheHome author Patrick Kennedy described the email as a Saturday newsletter for readers who wanted a quick update on the markets STH covers and the reviews it publishes. Its purpose was to help people catch up if they were away or did not have time to visit the site regularly. Kennedy’s Q4 2024 description gives the newsletter this recurring structure:

  1. A recap of the week: a brief overview of STH’s coverage.
  2. Five selected stories: Kennedy’s picks from the preceding seven days, chosen for their industry impact or as examples of the week’s key themes. He said he also usually tried to include reviews and other articles he personally liked.
  3. A preview of the coming week: an outline of planned STH content.

The selection is editorial curation, not a claim that these are objectively the five most important stories. Kennedy said the goal was to give readers a perspective they could use to catch up quickly: “The end goal is to provide a perspective for STH readers on topics so that if they are away on vacation or for some other reason, they can quickly catch up.”

How the Axautik Group publication differs

The Q4 2024 article also describes the Axautik Group Substack, launched in Q3 2024 as a separate outlet for STH’s analyst arm. It is a paid digital publication, not an upgrade to or part of the free weekly email. Its intended audience includes people in financial communities and data-center infrastructure providers; the article presents it as a lower-volume, higher-detail option for topics that may not fit the main STH site.

STH’s September 5, 2026 article continued to describe the Axautik Group Substack as a more detailed paid tier and the free weekly newsletter as active. That establishes that STH was still describing both offerings then, but does not establish the current price or billing terms. Read the September 2026 STH update.

Which option suits you?

Option Cost described by STH Format and depth Best fit
STH weekly email newsletter Free, as described in the December 2024 article Weekly curated recap, five selected stories and a preview of the coming week Readers who want a quick digest of STH coverage
Axautik Group Substack Paid; price and billing terms not stated in the cited articles Lower-volume, more detailed analysis Readers in finance or data-center infrastructure looking for deeper coverage

If your main need is a convenient weekly catch-up, the free email is the closer match. If you work in a professional audience the Axautik material is aimed at and want more detailed analysis, consider the separate paid publication. The sources establish no basis for comparing their current prices.

Signup and email details

The December 2024 article presented the free newsletter as an email opt-in and said readers could unsubscribe. It named Mailchimp as the signup provider at that time; this is a historical detail, not confirmation of the current provider or signup process. For the original description, see STH’s Q4 2024 newsletter article. For current signup mechanics or the paid publication’s current terms, check the destinations themselves.

Kennedy also said the newsletter was intended to reflect the STH team’s weekly editorial input despite companies seeking to advertise to its readers. The article does not provide a precise subscriber count, and its general reference to “thousands of readers” is not a dated, attributable statistic.
