Deadlock and Light No Fire topped SteamDB’s live chart of the most-followed upcoming Steam games on October 3, 2026. The biggest recent development was Deadlock’s October 2 update, which added six heroes and revised its map. The list below pairs that dated ranking snapshot with the latest reported news available for each game; SteamDB follower counts are not public wishlist totals.

How to read this list

Steam does not publish actual wishlist totals. SteamDB’s chart uses the Steam store as its data source and displays follower counts as a separate metric. The ranking and counts below are therefore a snapshot, not an official Valve ranking or a count of wishlists. SteamDB also warns that games can disappear from the chart temporarily because Steam search results may be inconsistent. The news roundup used here was published October 2 and has a different selection from SteamDB’s October 3 chart, so the two dates are kept distinct.

What’s new with the top 20

1. Deadlock

Valve’s team released the City Never Sleeps update on October 2, adding six characters and reworking the map. GamesRadar+ reported that the update coincided with a concurrent-player record above 228,000. That is a reported peak in simultaneous players, not a measure of wishlists or followers. The game was still invite-only when GamesRadar+ published its report. The team said it wanted to do more work on the core game after the Old Gods New Blood update before moving to polish such as updating older hero artwork. GamesRadar+’s report on the update.

2. Light No Fire

Sean Murray mentioned the game in a September 9 No Man’s Sky Cosmos video, but PC Gamer’s October 2 roundup reported little else new. GamesRadar+ separately reported Murray explaining the limited marketing by saying the game had “shot up the Steam wishlist charts” and was “number two on there.” That comment describes the chart position he referred to at the time; it is not a published wishlist total. GamesRadar+ on Murray’s comments.

3. Dear Passengers

Developer Flexus posted a lengthy Q&A on October 2, but it did not provide new pricing or a release date, according to PC Gamer. GamesRadar+ reported that Flexus said the game had reached two million Steam wishlists as of July 31, 2026, and that it had reached the top three on the chart by September 5. The two-million figure is a developer-attributed milestone, not a SteamDB follower count. GamesRadar+ on Dear Passengers’ milestone.

4. Fable

SteamDB listed Fable for February 2027. PC Gamer’s October 2 roundup said it remained on track for a February release at that time and noted that official lore appeared on September 21. The roundup does not itself specify a year for that February window.

Where the clearest news is—and where it is quiet

Deadlock had the most concrete recent development news in this group: a named update, six new characters, a map rework and a reported concurrent-player record. Dear Passengers also had a notable milestone, but its two-million wishlist figure came from its developer and was dated July 31, rather than from SteamDB’s follower chart. For several other games, the October 2 roundup pointed to older updates, hiring notices or ongoing tests rather than a new announcement. A quiet news period does not, by itself, establish a delay or cancellation.

For release planning, treat the listed months and years as the release information shown in SteamDB’s October 3 snapshot, not guarantees. Entries marked “Soon” or “TBA” are not precise calendar commitments. Check each game’s Steam page or official channels for changes after that date. Steam also maintains an upcoming releases page, though it does not provide all development news.
