As of October 7, 2026, the available price checks support two Steam Deck Verified games at 90% off—not 25: Dying Light for $2.49 and Detroit: Become Human for $3.99 in the U.S. Steam store. Those prices were checked October 3 and may change; the reported Autumn Sale deadline is October 8 at 10 a.m. Pacific. Digital Citizen’s October 4 sale roundup lists both, but does not establish 25 games meeting the title’s exact criteria.

Which 90%-off games are Steam Deck Verified?

The dated U.S. price snapshot identifies these two games as both 90% off and Verified. The list price and sale price below are the values reported by Digital Citizen after checking prices on October 3, 2026—not guaranteed current prices or prices for other regions.

Game Reported U.S. sale price Reported list price Discount Deck compatibility
Dying Light $2.49 $24.99 90% Verified
Detroit: Become Human $3.99 $39.99 90% Verified

The same roundup included other Verified games under $10, but not all met the 90%-off threshold. For example, it reported Darkest Dungeon at 85% off and Hades and Slay the Spire at 75% off. A low price alone does not make a game a match for this list.

Why this is not a list of 25 games

The available evidence does not substantiate 25 games that are simultaneously at least 90% off and Steam Deck Verified. Filling out the list with games that only meet one condition—or with unconfirmed store results—would mislead buyers. Steam store search examples such as Sniper Elite 4 and Sid Meier’s Civilization VI do not, by themselves, establish a Verified rating.

  • Wi-Fi 6E
  • 50Whr battery; 3-12 hours of gameplay (content-dependent)
  • Carrying case with removable liner

The scale of the filtering problem is illustrated by Digital Citizen’s report: its Steam search for specials under $10 with Deck Verified returned 578 results, but its follow-up check against Valve compatibility information left 171. The article said some results were merely Playable and two it checked were Unsupported. Those counts describe that author’s October 2026 check, not a permanent property of Steam’s filters.

What Steam Deck Verified does—and does not—mean

Valve’s Steam Deck compatibility guidance defines Verified as: “The game works great on Steam Deck, right out of the box.” Valve evaluates input, display and text legibility, how seamlessly the game works (including controller use with launchers), and system support such as Proton and anti-cheat.

Verified is a compatibility category, not a performance benchmark. It does not promise a particular frame rate or battery life. Valve says the ratings apply to both LCD and OLED Deck models and that reviews continue as games, updates, and Deck capabilities change. Valve does not publish the test date for each game, so the badge should not be treated as a guarantee about a specific game version or future update.

How to check a deal before buying

  1. Find candidates. Use Steam’s sale search with Deck compatibility filters, or browse SteamDB’s Autumn Sale discount and rating filters. Filters help find possibilities; they do not replace checking the individual game.
  2. Open the game’s Steam store page. Confirm the live price and discount in your own region, then check the exact compatibility label. Verified and Playable are different categories: Valve says Playable may require manual tweaking.
  3. Check the timing. The cited sale reporting gives an October 8, 2026, 10 a.m. Pacific end time. Because sale prices can change and the deadline is close, treat the listed prices as dated snapshots and confirm the checkout price before purchasing.
  4. Choose based on your needs, not the badge alone. Consider the game’s genre, session style, review information, and whether you are comfortable making adjustments if a title is Playable rather than Verified.

SteamDB is a third-party discovery tool and says it is not affiliated with Valve. Its filtered results are not a Valve endorsement or a substitute for the compatibility label on the game’s Steam page.

What the sale figures tell you

Digital Citizen’s October 4 roundup reported 12 Steam Deck Verified games under $10, using U.S. prices checked October 3. It also reported that 11 of those 12 had Steam’s “Overwhelmingly Positive” review tier and one had “Very Positive.” These are that article’s dated figures, not a claim that every game under $10—or every game in a filtered sale search—has those ratings.
