SteamDB distinguishes ordinary discounts from offers it marks as historical lows or new historical lows. A high discount by itself does not mean a game is at a record-low price. Check the listing’s deal marker for the specific title rather than assuming the discount is a historic best.

How to decide whether a Steam deal is worth buying
Start with fit, not the percentage off
A 90% discount can still be poor value if you do not want the game. Choose a genre and play style first—such as single-player story, cooperative puzzles, strategy, or multiplayer action—then compare the eligible games. The shortlist above includes different kinds of games rather than one universal best choice.
Compare price, history, and player response
- Actual price: Compare what you will pay in your region, not only the discount percentage.
- Historical price: Treat a historical-low label as established only when the tracker marks that specific offer as one.
- Reviews: Use the review score as one signal alongside the game’s genre, features, and your own preferences.
- Release state: Check whether a title is in early access if that affects your willingness to buy it; Solasta 2 is described as early access in PC Gamer’s roundup.
- Edition and availability: Confirm the exact edition, current discount, and sale end time on the game’s store page.
Use very low prices as a filter, not a quality signal
PC Gamer reported that SteamDB listed 44,048 Steam games under $5 during the sale, updating an earlier estimate after the listing had been heavily accessed. That is a SteamDB snapshot reported by PC Gamer, not a Valve tally or a curated list of worthwhile games. With that many low-priced options, narrow the results by genre, features, release date, review count, and score rather than treating price alone as a recommendation.
Rank #4
- An Epic Games account is required to redeem an Epic Games Store Card code
- If playing on a console platform (PlayStation Network, Xbox Live, Nintendo Switch or Mobile) you need to link your Epic Games account to that gaming platform (one time) to redeem your gift card code
- The 16 digit code on the back of the card WILL NOT work if redeemed directly through your gaming platform (PlayStation Network, Xbox Live, Nintendo Switch, Mobile, etc.)
- Note: Nintendo devices do not support Fortnite Shared Wallet, so V-Bucks purchased using your account balance will not show up on your Nintendo device. However, if you purchase items in the web Item Shop — or another platform where you play Fortnite — those items will be available in your Locker across all platforms.
- Redemption: Online
What the sale offers—and what to verify
This guide concerns digital Steam purchases. A 2K Steam Community announcement describes 2K’s own promotion as “Digital only” and says its offers end October 8, 2026; those terms apply to that promotion and should not be read as general terms for every Steam offer.
