Static.app is a managed way to publish static website files, with archive upload and desktop folder syncing alongside features such as forms and analytics. Its alternatives include Cloudflare Pages, Netlify, GitHub Pages, Tiiny Host, and Vercel, but that shortlist is not a verified ranking. The right choice depends on whether you want a file-first publishing workflow or more control over builds, Git, and server-side functionality.

What to compare when choosing a Static.app alternative

Start with how you build and update your site, then compare the tools and limits you actually need. A host that accepts static files may not provide the same workflow or site-management features as another host.

  • Deployment workflow: Do you want to upload an archive or sync a local folder, connect a Git provider, upload built assets, or deploy from a command line?
  • Site operations: Check for the specific features you need, such as forms, analytics, editing, backups, redirects, password protection, or media handling.
  • Plan limits: Compare site counts, storage, team seats, traffic terms, trial length, and add-on prices on each provider’s current plan page.
  • Technical control: Decide whether static-file hosting is enough or whether you need build pipelines, framework support, server-side functions, or command-line control.
  • Switching checklist: Before moving a site, identify domain setup, file-transfer work, integrations to replace, and any dynamic behavior the new host must support. These are project-specific checks, not evidence that migration is easier with one named provider.

Static.app: a file-first, managed workflow

Static.app describes its service as a one-click hosting solution. Its homepage says you can upload an archive or use its desktop application to point at a local folder, with changes syncing and publishing. The product page also lists SSL, analytics, media storage, forms, a browser code editor, custom domains, backups, short links, workspaces, an API/MCP connector, webhooks, GitHub Actions, private pages, and QR codes. These are vendor-described capabilities, not independently tested findings. See Static.app’s feature overview.

Displayed plans and limits

Static.app’s pricing page displayed the following figures when checked on October 7, 2026. Treat them as the page’s published plan details on that date; verify current terms before subscribing.

Plan Displayed price Sites and storage Notable listed details
Free trial $0 for seven days One website; 50 MB storage Free subdomain, SSL, QR codes, desktop app, and API/MCP
Starter $5/month, or $60 billed annually Two websites; 500 MB storage Paid-plan features listed below
Medium $10/month, or $120 billed annually Seven websites; 3 GB storage Paid-plan features; one team seat
Large $15/month, or $180 billed annually 30 websites; 10 GB storage Paid-plan features; three team seats and three backup slots

The pricing page lists custom domains, SSL, QR codes, the desktop app, analytics, workspaces, forms, integrations, API/MCP, unlimited traffic, and short links for paid plans. It also lists paid add-ons for websites, storage, and seats; the cited plan summary does not specify their add-on prices. Check Static.app’s pricing page.

There is a discrepancy in Static.app’s published pricing information: its help page says paid plans start at $6 per month, while the pricing table displays Starter at $5 per month. For the displayed plan comparison above, the pricing table is the source; confirm the amount and billing terms on the live page. The help page also describes SSL by default, privacy-friendly analytics, password-protected websites or pages, and redirects on paid plans. Read Static.app’s help and FAQ.

Cloudflare Pages: compare deployment routes and functions

Cloudflare Pages is the alternative in this shortlist with the most specific technical details in the available provider documentation. It documents deployment by connecting a Git provider, directly uploading prebuilt assets, or using command-line tooling. It also documents Pages Functions for server-side code, along with rollbacks and redirects. Review Cloudflare Pages documentation.

That makes Pages worth considering if your workflow involves Git, prepared assets, CLI deployment, or server-side code. It is not established here as a drop-in replacement for Static.app’s desktop folder sync or its bundled forms and account-level management features. Cloudflare’s documentation says Workers supports most Pages use cases with a broader feature set and recommends Workers for new projects, so check that guidance against your project before choosing a Cloudflare path.

Other alternatives surfaced by Product Hunt

Product Hunt surfaces Netlify and Cloudflare Pages in its alternatives results; its Static.app listing also names GitHub Pages, Tiiny Host, and Vercel in a reviewer’s alternatives context. This is a discovery shortlist, not a complete market survey, ranked recommendation, or current feature-and-price comparison. See Product Hunt’s Static.app alternatives page.

Current official plan limits and detailed capabilities for Netlify, GitHub Pages, Tiiny Host, and Vercel are not established by the sources cited here. Compare each provider’s own current documentation and pricing against your needs rather than assuming the services share the same deployment workflow or included features.

Investigate the other names against your own requirements

Netlify, GitHub Pages, Tiiny Host, and Vercel are candidates surfaced by Product Hunt, but the available evidence does not support ranking them against Static.app or detailing their current plans. For each, verify the deployment methods, operational features, limits, and technical requirements in official materials.

How to make the decision without assuming a ranking

  1. Write down your publishing path. Note whether you need archive upload, local-folder syncing, Git integration, prebuilt-asset upload, or CLI deployment.
  2. List required site features. Separate must-haves—such as forms, redirects, password protection, backups, or server-side code—from convenient extras.
  3. Check the live plan terms. Confirm site and storage limits, seats, traffic terms, add-ons, trial duration, and billing cadence for your region and project.
  4. Map out what must move. Check your domain configuration, files, integrations, and any dynamic behavior before switching providers.
  5. Validate with provider documentation. Product Hunt can help identify services to investigate, but provider documentation and plan pages are the basis for confirming whether a particular service meets your needs.
