Starlink opened Mini sales to anyone in the United States on July 11, 2024, ending its earlier invitation-based access. The launch offer—a $599 kit and a $50-per-month plan with 50GB—was then-current pricing, not today’s. As of October 8, 2026, Starlink’s US product page advertises Mini kits starting at $199, while its Roam page lists plans from $55 per month. Actual kit prices and plan eligibility can vary by address and account.
What changed when Starlink Mini became available to everyone in the US?
Before the general release, Starlink had limited Mini access to a selected group. On July 11, 2024, SatelliteInternet.com reported that anyone in the United States could purchase it. At launch, the reported price was $599 for the kit, with a $50-per-month Mini Roam plan that included 50GB. Those figures describe the 2024 offer only; they are not current prices. SatelliteInternet.com’s July 11, 2024 report covered the announcement.
Starlink’s current US product page lists Mini for purchase and advertises the kit starting at $199. Check the price shown for your address and account before ordering, as the advertised starting price may not be your checkout price. Starlink Mini product page.

Do not assume the 2024 50GB Mini Roam offer is still available under the same terms. Starlink’s Mini availability help page lists Roam 50GB, Roam Unlimited, Local Priority, and Global Priority as plans Mini works with in most countries, while its current US Roam page lists 100GB, 300GB, and Unlimited options. Residential plans are supported only in limited regions. Because the pages do not fully resolve the current plan names and eligibility for every US account, check the plans offered for your location and Mini in your Starlink account before buying or changing service. Can I use Starlink Mini anywhere in the US?
Mini is designed as a portable kit, and Starlink offers Roam service for travel. The availability of service at a particular place still depends on the plan, account eligibility, and Starlink’s terms. Check that your selected plan supports the locations and type of use you have in mind; “available for anyone in the US to roam” does not mean every plan works everywhere without restrictions.

Under that policy, Roam Unlimited permits up to 30 days outside the registered home country at a time. Other Roam plans are for use within the registered home country or grouped region, and jurisdiction-specific restrictions may apply. Check the policy and your plan before crossing a border. What power source can Mini use?
For battery use with Starlink’s USB-C to barrel-jack cable accessory, Starlink specifies a 100W USB-PD source with a minimum output of 20V/5A. The specification does not establish compatibility for a particular third-party power bank or predict how long any battery will run Mini. Check the power source’s output against Starlink’s requirement rather than choosing by its capacity label alone. Starlink Mini power specifications.
At launch, Starlink described Mini as a portable customer kit that could be powered by a 100W USB-C battery pack. For the current connection requirement and detailed specifications, use the product page rather than relying on that launch-era description. Starlink’s 2024 progress report.
