When did Star Wars: Galactic Racer go live?
The official announcement gave October 6, 2026 as the worldwide launch date for PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC. StarWars.com’s release announcement confirms the date and platforms but does not set one global unlock time. The US PlayStation Store listing displayed 09:00 UTC; that is specific to the listing and should not be treated as the confirmed schedule for Xbox, PC, Luna or every region.
For the applicable local release status, consult the store for the platform you plan to use. Amazon Game Studios announced launch-day access through Luna for Prime members in territories where the service is available. Amazon’s Luna announcement describes that option, not a physical retail offer.

What kind of racing game is it?
Galactic Racer is a runs-based racing adventure set in the underground Galactic League, an unsanctioned Outer Rim circuit as the New Republic rebuilds after the Empire’s fall. Players take the role of Shade, a racer seeking revenge and glory, recruited by Darius Pax to challenge the influence of Kestar Bool. The game’s official descriptions frame runs around choices of routes, events, upgrades and vehicles, rather than a single uninterrupted championship.
Vehicles and handling
The game features landspeeders, speeder bikes, skim speeders and podracers. Amazon Game Studios describes each class as emphasizing different driving approaches: landspeeders are associated with aggressive takedowns and cornering, speeder bikes with hard braking and acceleration, and the new skim speeder with momentum and precise racing lines. Podracers form a separate class and race only against other podracers because of their speed. These are publisher descriptions, not independent handling tests.

Official gameplay materials name four settings: volcanic Sentinel One, dusty Jakku, icy Ando Prime and jungle planet Lantaana. Amazon’s launch overview also calls out environmental hazards on Sentinel One and the Graveyard of Giants on Jakku. The gameplay-trailer announcement includes the named vehicles and locations.

Modes and multiplayer
Amazon Game Studios describes three ways to play: a single-player campaign; short Arcade events built around a track, vehicle and objective; and longer Scenarios with distinct rules and characters. Steam lists single-player, online PvP and cross-platform multiplayer. Those listings establish advertised features, not hands-on findings about performance or the size of the online player base.
