At Fate’s End, Thunder Lotus’s next game after Spiritfarer, has been delayed from its previously announced 2026 window to 2027. The studio says it wants more time to give the game additional care and ensure a smooth release. Xbox Game Pass remains on the planned platform list, but Thunder Lotus has not announced a specific release date.

When will At Fate’s End be released?

Thunder Lotus announced on October 6, 2026, that At Fate’s End is now planned for release in 2027, rather than 2026. The studio has not provided a month or day; it says it will share a more precise date when ready. In its announcement, Thunder Lotus said it had made substantial progress since revealing the game in 2025, but wanted more time to give it additional care and support a smooth release. Is At Fate’s End still coming to Xbox Game Pass?

The developer has not announced a more specific Game Pass availability date or clarified the applicable subscription tier. Thunder Lotus’s game page and official FAQ

The Game Pass plan was also part of the original 2025 Xbox announcement, which described a day-one launch. That announcement referred to the earlier 2026 window; the current developer information updates the release year to 2027. Xbox Wire’s June 11, 2025 announcement

The game brings combat into a story-led experience. Creative Director Nicolas Guérin said the studio wanted conflict and choice to serve the emotional storytelling rather than overshadow it: “In At Fate’s End, we’ve chosen to explore tension, conflict, and choice in more direct ways than in Spiritfarer. We knew that meant bringing in combat, but we didn’t want it to overshadow the emotional storytelling, we wanted it to serve it.” Thunder Lotus’s reveal announcement
