South Korea beat Chinese Taipei 3-0 in the League of Legends final, according to Yonhap News Agency’s October 2, 2026 report. Yonhap describes the result as South Korea’s second consecutive Asian Games title. Insider Gaming separately reports that the team went unbeaten through the tournament and that Faker, Zeus, and Keria each earned a second Asian Games gold.
How South Korea won the final
Yonhap reported that South Korea defeated Chinese Taipei 3-0 at Aichi Sky Expo in Tokoname. The agency called it the country’s second consecutive League of Legends title at the Asian Games, following the inaugural tournament at the Hangzhou Games.
Yonhap’s October 2 match report describes the event as the 2026 Asian Games in its account, but one sentence labels it the “2025 Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games.” Yonhap had described the Aichi-Nagoya Games as upcoming in 2026 in a May 2026 report. The conflicting year label appears to be an inconsistency in the match report; the result is therefore best described as the reported 2026 Asian Games final, while noting the discrepancy.
Did South Korea complete a flawless run?
Insider Gaming’s October 2 account says South Korea did not drop a game: it reports three 3-0 group-stage wins, a semifinal victory over Saudi Arabia, and the 3-0 final. That outlet characterizes the campaign as flawless. The accessible text on the official LoL Esports Asian Games 2026 results page shows the tournament and its group and knockout stages, but not readable match scores, so it does not independently confirm the unbeaten record.

Did Faker play in the final?
Insider Gaming reports that Faker (Lee Sang-hyeok) played against India in the group stage, then took a coaching role and was not in the final lineup. Its reported starting five for the final was Zeus (Choi Woo-je), Canyon (Kim Gun-boo), Zeka (Kim Geon-woo), Gumayusi (Lee Min-hyung), and Keria (Ryu Min-seok). This lineup and Faker’s role are secondary-source details; Yonhap’s October report names the six match-day players but does not establish that lineup or role.
Who earned a second Asian Games gold?
Yonhap confirms that Faker earned a second Asiad gold and identifies the win as South Korea’s second consecutive League of Legends title. Insider Gaming says Zeus and Keria also earned second golds. Its claim about all three players should be attributed to that report: Yonhap’s opened October account independently confirms only Faker’s repeat gold.
