Sophos appointed Torjus Gylstorff chief revenue officer in October 2024, announcing the hire on October 22. He leads the company’s global sales organization and revenue growth, including work with its partner and customer networks.
Who is Torjus Gylstorff?
Gylstorff is a technology and cybersecurity sales executive with more than 25 years of experience in sales, channel strategy and business development, according to Sophos’s October 2024 announcement. Before joining Sophos, he was worldwide sales leader for Thales’ Application and Data Security Business. Earlier roles included vice president of Worldwide Channels and Alliances at Symantec and emerging-business initiatives at Blue Coat Systems; his career also includes Norman Shark, IBM and Lotus Software.
Why did Sophos appoint him?
Sophos said the appointment was intended to accelerate sales across its cybersecurity portfolio: Managed Detection and Response (MDR), endpoint, network, email and cloud security. In the announcement, the company described a customer base of more than 600,000 organizations as of October 2024.

What does the chief revenue officer do at Sophos?
Gylstorff’s remit is global revenue growth. Sophos said he would lead its sales organization and its partner and customer networks. That makes the role broader than managing a single product line or region: it connects sales execution with the channels and customer relationships used to bring Sophos services and products to market.
What does the appointment mean for Sophos partners and MSPs?
Sophos’s route to market includes resellers, service providers and technology partners. Gylstorff’s appointment signals that the company wanted to build on those relationships as it pursued growth in MDR and its wider security portfolio. For partners and MSPs, the announcement establishes strategic emphasis, not specific program changes. It does not set out new margins, incentives, enablement commitments or product terms. Those details should not be inferred from the executive appointment alone.

What to know about the announcement date
Sophos announced Gylstorff’s appointment on October 22, 2024, and said he joined that month. The customer count in that announcement—more than 600,000 organizations—is a dated figure, not a current total; customer counts can change over time.
