The Sony LinkBuds Clip (WF-LC900) is listed for $158 at Amazon and Best Buy, about $70 below its roughly $228–$229.99 list price. The deal is confirmed for the black model; check the Sony LinkBuds Clip at Amazon or Best Buy’s live listing before buying, since prices and colors can change.
What the $70 Sony LinkBuds Clip deal includes
At $158, the earbuds are about 31% off their launch list price of $229.99. Android Authority reported the Amazon price at $158 against a $228 reference price, while Rolling Stone’s October 2026 Amazon Big Deal Days roundup listed $158, down from $229.99. Best Buy also listed the black model at $158 as a Techtober Deal, showing $70 in savings. The small difference in reference prices reflects retailer pricing, not a different version of the earbuds.
The $158 price is confirmed for black. Other colors—greige, green and lavender—may be priced differently. Walmart listings have been higher; one listing bundled with a care plan was $198. Check the retailer’s final cart price and terms before ordering.

The WF-LC900 are clip-on, open-ear earbuds: they sit around the outer ear rather than forming an in-ear seal. That design leaves the ear canal open, which can make it easier to hear sounds around you and may suit listeners who dislike in-ear tips. It also means they do not isolate sound like sealed earbuds, and their bass is comparatively weak—a common compromise with open-ear designs.

Battery life, charging and everyday features
- Battery: Sony rates the earbuds for up to 9 hours per charge, with 28 additional hours from the case, or 37 hours in total. SoundGuys measured 7 hours 10 minutes in its own single-charge test; actual use can vary with volume and settings.
- Quick charge: Sony’s reported figure is up to an hour of listening from a 3-minute charge.
- Charging: The case charges over USB-C and does not support wireless charging.
- Wireless and codecs: Bluetooth 5.3, multipoint connections, and SBC and AAC codecs are listed by Pocket-lint.
- Durability: IPX4 means resistance to water splashes, including sweat, not waterproofing or protection against submersion.
The Sony Sound Connect app adds a 10-band EQ, Find Your Own Equalizer, DSEE upscaling and 360 Reality Audio, according to Pocket-lint and deal coverage. Rolling Stone describes the app as feature-rich but cluttered. App features and their usefulness depend on the listener; the earbuds support only SBC and AAC audio codecs.

What reviewers like—and what they criticize
Comfort and awareness
Rolling Stone considers them among the more comfortable earbuds in the category and finds their sound more robust than expected for an open-ear design. Pocket-lint, which rated them 4.5 out of 5, also praised comfort, battery life and smart features. The open fit can be useful when staying aware of nearby sounds matters, but it is not a substitute for hearing protection or a guarantee that you will hear every sound around you.

Sound, controls and reliability
Weak bass is the clearest audio compromise. Pocket-lint also found the touch controls around the tragus—the small area just in front of the ear opening—finicky. Tom’s Guide was less positive, reporting buggy behavior and discomfort. Fit and comfort are personal, so those differing assessments make trying the clip-on design particularly worthwhile if you can buy from a retailer with a suitable return policy.

They are worth considering at $158 if you specifically want a clip-on open-ear fit, value comfort and awareness, and can accept lighter bass and USB-C-only case charging. Pocket-lint’s strong rating and Rolling Stone’s comfort assessment support the appeal, while Tom’s Guide’s reports of discomfort and buggy behavior are reasons to check the return terms rather than assume the fit will work for you.
