The Sony K-65XR30M2 is the 65-inch-class 2026 BRAVIA 3 II: a 4K LED Google TV whose listed features include a native 120 Hz panel, four HDMI inputs with 4K120, VRR and ALLM, and Google TV with casting and Apple HomeKit support. Those specifications make it worth considering if you want a large-screen Sony with current gaming connections, but they do not establish how bright, contrasty or responsive it performs in practice. This is a specification-led review, not a hands-on or lab-tested verdict.
What is the Sony K-65XR30M2?
Sony identifies the K-65XR30M2 as its 2026 BRAVIA 3 II, a 65-inch-class television with a 64.5-inch measured diagonal. It uses an LCD panel with Direct LED backlighting, has 3840 × 2160 resolution, and runs Google TV. Sony lists an XR Processor, XR Triluminos Pro and Live Color, with Dolby Vision, HDR10 and HLG compatibility. The US listing describes it as a 4K HDR LED Google TV with Gemini; Gemini access is conditional on a software update and eligibility requirements for country, language and age.
Sony’s official specifications describe what the television supports, but do not provide a peak-luminance figure or independent measurements. The presence of Direct LED backlighting and frame dimming does not, by itself, tell you how bright the screen gets, how deep its blacks look, or whether bright objects produce visible blooming. Those picture-quality judgments require measurements or viewing tests.

On paper, it has features relevant to current consoles and gaming PCs: Sony lists a native 120 Hz panel, four HDMI inputs, 4K120, variable refresh rate (VRR) and Auto Low Latency Mode (ALLM). Sony lists VRR and ALLM for HDMI 1–4. This gives you flexibility to connect several gaming devices, but does not establish input lag, motion clarity or how well VRR behaves in actual use.

Check the manual and your device requirements before wiring a system that depends on a particular port or HDMI behavior. Sony’s specifications identify four HDMI inputs—two side-facing and two bottom-facing—and list eARC among the HDMI features. Port placement may affect cable routing when the TV is wall-mounted. The page also lists SBTM; consult Sony’s documentation for the feature’s behavior with your equipment rather than assuming every source uses it.
What picture and HDR formats does it support?
The K-65XR30M2 is a 4K LCD television with Direct LED backlighting and frame dimming, according to Sony. Its stated HDR formats are Dolby Vision, HDR10 and HLG. Sony also lists the XR Processor, XR Triluminos Pro and Live Color. These are manufacturer-described technologies; the specifications page does not establish comparative color accuracy, HDR brightness, contrast or black-level performance.
Sony’s product listing says, “Enjoy cinematic picture and sound at home with Dolby Vision® and Dolby Atmos®.” That is promotional language, not a measured picture or audio result. If picture performance is your deciding factor, look for independent measurements of this exact model before treating its feature list as evidence of image quality.

How are the sound and smart-TV features?
Sound
Sony lists two full-range speakers with a combined output of 20 W, plus Bass Reflex and X-Balanced speaker types. Supported audio formats include Dolby Audio, Dolby Atmos and DTS:X. Format support and rated output do not establish dialogue clarity, bass depth or how convincing surround effects sound in a room; no listening test is established here. The TV lists eARC/ARC, so a compatible soundbar is an option if you plan to use external audio.
Google TV, casting and connectivity
The listed platform is Google TV, with Google Play Store and 32 GB of onboard storage. Sony also lists Chromecast built-in, Apple AirPlay, HomeKit, Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3. The TV has a built-in microphone and a microphone switch. Gemini availability on the US product listing depends on a software update and select country, language and age eligibility, so do not assume it is available in every region or configuration.
Other listed connections include two USB ports, LAN and a digital audio output. Sony’s specification page says the model has no component or composite video input, no headphone output and no BRAVIA Sync (HDMI-CEC). If you depend on legacy video equipment, wired headphones or HDMI-CEC control, verify the exact regional model and manual before buying.

Will it fit your room or wall mount?
Sony lists the following dimensions and weights. The outside stand width is narrower than the TV’s full width, so check both the furniture surface and the stand footprint before placing it.
| Configuration | Dimensions (W × H × D) | Weight |
|---|---|---|
| Without stand | 57 × 33.13 × 2.75 inches | 45.9 lb |
| With stand | 57 × 35.56 × 11.44 inches | 46.8 lb |
| Outside stand width | 49.44 inches | Not stated on Sony’s specifications page |
The listed VESA mounting pattern is 300 × 300 mm. Sony identifies an optional wall-mount bracket and provides a compatibility list. Before installation, check the mount’s weight rating, compatible VESA pattern and included hardware, and confirm the bracket’s fit against Sony’s compatibility information.

Who should consider the BRAVIA 3 II?
Consider it if you want a 65-inch-class Sony 4K television and value the listed 120 Hz panel, four HDMI ports with VRR and ALLM, Google TV, and compatibility with both Chromecast and Apple casting or smart-home features. Its specifications also make it a plausible candidate for a console setup with 4K120, though they do not substitute for verified gaming latency or performance testing.
Pause if you need proven HDR brightness, strong dark-room contrast, low input lag, or a particular level of built-in audio quality: the available specifications cannot answer those questions. Likewise, buyers with older composite/component gear or wired headphones should account for the listed omissions. For any comparison with another 65-inch TV, look beyond model tier and compare independent picture and latency measurements, port behavior, smart-platform needs, speaker performance and installation dimensions.
