The Sony INZONE M10S II is a 27-inch-class OLED gaming monitor built around a choice: run QHD at up to 540 Hz over DisplayPort, or switch to HD for up to 720 Hz. That makes it a specialist option for competitive players, not an automatic upgrade for every PC gamer. Whether its premium price makes sense depends on the resolution you are willing to sacrifice, the games and hardware you use, and whether extreme refresh rates matter more to you than other display priorities.
What the INZONE M10S II offers
The M10S II (model SDM-27Q102) is an OLED monitor with a 2560 × 1440 QHD panel. Sony Japan lists a 27-inch screen, while Sony UK support gives the active diagonal as 26.5 inches; “27-inch-class” is the clearest description across those regional pages. Sony developed it with Fnatic and positions it for tournament play. Sony’s Japan specifications and UK support specifications identify the product details.
Refresh rate depends on the mode and connection
Over DisplayPort, Sony specifies up to 540 Hz at QHD or up to 720 Hz in HD using Dual Format mode. The 720 Hz figure is not available at QHD: it requires the lower HD resolution. Sony lists up to 480 Hz over HDMI. These are maximum supported modes, so check the graphics card, connection, game settings, and display configuration needed to reach the mode you want.

Is 540 Hz worth it, and when would 720 Hz make sense?
Refresh rate is only one part of the decision. QHD at 540 Hz preserves the monitor’s full stated resolution while offering an exceptionally high refresh ceiling. The 720 Hz mode prioritizes refresh rate over detail by dropping to HD. That trade-off is most relevant to competitive players who prefer the lower-resolution mode and whose games and PC can deliver very high frame rates. If you want QHD detail in all your games, the HD mode is not a like-for-like upgrade.
- Consider QHD at 540 Hz if you want the higher resolution while pursuing very high refresh in supported games.
- Consider HD at 720 Hz if maximum refresh is the priority and you accept the lower resolution.
- Look beyond the headline number if your games, system, or preferred settings do not make use of such high refresh rates.
The available specifications establish the monitor’s maximum modes, not how much a particular player will benefit. That depends on the games, hardware, settings, and individual preferences.

Panel, brightness, and motion features
Sony lists a 0.02 ms gray-to-gray response time, 335 cd/m² typical brightness, 1,500 cd/m² peak brightness, and 99.5% DCI-P3 color coverage. Those are manufacturer specifications, not measurements made for this article. Peak brightness is not the same as sustained full-screen brightness; the figures should be read in the context of Sony’s stated specification rather than as a guarantee of uniform brightness in every scene. The Sony UK support page lists these display specifications.

The feature names and availability can vary by product page or region, so confirm them against the local listing. In its September 22, 2026 review, PC Gamer assessed that Motion Blur Reduction could make 270 Hz look approximately as clear as 540 Hz. How it compares as a premium competitive monitor
The M10S II’s clearest differentiator is its two-mode proposition: QHD at up to 540 Hz or HD at up to 720 Hz over DisplayPort. Sony says it was developed with Fnatic and describes it as tournament-ready. Its official video calls out “Dual Mode QHD 540Hz / HD 720Hz” alongside the 0.02 ms response-time specification. Sony’s official INZONE M10S II video
Those points make it a compellingly focused specification sheet, but they do not establish that it is categorically the fastest, brightest, or best-value monitor in the market. To compare it with another model, match resolution, connection, refresh mode, tested image quality, motion features, warranty, and current local price. Published manufacturer figures should not be treated as interchangeable with independent measurements.

It is a better fit if
- You primarily play competitive games and value very high refresh rates.
- You want OLED and QHD, with the option to trade resolution for a 720 Hz HD mode.
- Your PC and games can make practical use of the monitor’s high-refresh modes.
It is a harder sell if
- You do not want to drop from QHD to HD to reach the highest refresh mode.
- You rarely play games that benefit from refresh rates this high.
- Its current local price is difficult to justify against monitors that better match your resolution, refresh, or budget priorities.
Verdict: The INZONE M10S II is a focused premium choice for competitive players who specifically want extreme refresh rates on an OLED display. Its most important caveat is also its defining feature: 720 Hz means HD, while QHD tops out at 540 Hz over DisplayPort. Decide which mode you would actually use before paying for the headline specification.
