The Hisense U6SF Pro is the stronger pick for most shoppers who prioritize bright HDR, local dimming and high-refresh-rate gaming. In Tom’s Guide’s 2026 comparison, it scored 87/100 to the Sony BRAVIA 3 II’s 85/100, with a much larger measured advantage in HDR brightness. That is a narrow win under one publisher’s scoring rubric—not a universal verdict. Sony may be the better fit if you want Google TV, a 43- or 50-inch screen, or four HDMI 2.1 ports.
How the two TVs compare
The models share 4K resolution and broad screen-size overlap, but use different smart-TV platforms and backlights. The U6SF Pro is a Mini-LED model running Fire TV; the BRAVIA 3 II is an LED Google TV. Tom’s Guide lists the Hisense at 144Hz and Sony at 120Hz.
| Feature | Hisense U6SF Pro | Sony BRAVIA 3 II |
|---|---|---|
| Overall score | 87/100, Tom’s Guide 2026 comparison rubric | 85/100, Tom’s Guide 2026 comparison rubric |
| Screen sizes listed | 55, 65, 75, 85 and 100 inches | 43, 50, 55, 65, 75, 85 and 100 inches |
| Smart-TV platform | Fire TV | Google TV |
| Backlight / display description | ULED Mini-LED | 4K HDR LED |
| Refresh rate listed in comparison | 144Hz | 120Hz |
| HDMI ports listed in comparison | Two HDMI 2.1 and two HDMI 2.0 | Four HDMI 2.1 |
The size, platform, refresh-rate and port comparisons come from Tom’s Guide’s 2026 head-to-head page. Sony’s US support listing identifies the 65-inch BRAVIA 3 II as model K-65XR30M2 and model year 2026; it specifies four HDMI inputs and VRR support. Hisense’s US page lists the U6 Pro Series ULED MiniLED 4K Fire TV in the sizes shown above. Tom’s Guide’s comparison, Sony’s specifications and Hisense’s U6 Pro Series page are useful for checking model details.

Which TV is brighter for HDR?
The Hisense has the clearest advantage in the comparison’s HDR-brightness test. Tom’s Guide measured 1,265 nits on a 10% HDR window for the U6SF Pro and 520 nits for the BRAVIA 3 II. These are results from that publisher’s test, not a guarantee for every unit or picture setting. The comparison says measurements were taken in the most accurate picture modes: Filmmaker for Hisense and Professional for Sony. See the comparison’s test results and methodology notes.

That brightness advantage, combined with Mini-LED local dimming, makes the U6SF Pro the better-supported choice for shoppers who watch HDR in a bright room or want stronger control of contrast. Tom’s Guide reports that the Mini-LED zones improve contrast control, but can still produce some blooming in difficult high-contrast scenes. Mini-LED is not a promise of perfect blacks in every scene.
Other measurements in the same comparison are closer. At a 10% SDR window, Tom’s Guide recorded 358 nits for Hisense and 352 for Sony. Its color-accuracy Delta-E results were 1.6 for Hisense and 2.1 for Sony; the lower figure indicates the closer measured match in that test. UHDA-P3 coverage was 96.1% versus 94.62%, and Rec.2020 coverage was 75.12% versus 74.06%, respectively. These are comparison-specific lab figures, not a substitute for how a TV looks in your room.
Which TV is better for gaming?
The Hisense is the more appealing choice if your priority is a 144Hz refresh rate. Tom’s Guide’s separate U6SF Pro review also reports VRR, ALLM and FreeSync Premium Pro, and measured 9.3 ms input latency on its 65-inch review sample. Those features and that latency result are publisher-reported; performance can depend on the game, settings and connected device. Read Tom’s Guide’s U6SF Pro review and test details.

Sony’s advantage is the number of HDMI 2.1 connections: the comparison lists four for the BRAVIA 3 II, versus two HDMI 2.1 ports on Hisense, with the other two Hisense ports listed as HDMI 2.0. Before choosing, count the high-bandwidth devices you expect to leave connected—such as a console and gaming PC—rather than relying on the total HDMI-port count. Sony’s support listing also specifies VRR for the 65-inch model.
Google TV or Fire TV?
Choose based on the interface you would rather use day to day. Sony runs Google TV; Hisense runs Fire TV. The comparison establishes the platforms, but does not determine which one is better for an individual household. Consider the apps, voice assistant and account ecosystem you already use, and whether you prefer Google’s or Amazon’s interface.
Which sizes and prices are available?
The BRAVIA 3 II is the option to consider if you need a 43- or 50-inch TV; those sizes appear in Tom’s Guide’s comparison for Sony but not for the U6SF Pro. Both lines are listed at 55, 65, 75, 85 and 100 inches. Confirm the exact model and size on the manufacturer or retailer page before ordering.

Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. What testing supports the comparison?
Tom’s Guide gives the side-by-side scores and measurements, and says it used Professional mode for Sony and Filmmaker mode for Hisense. Its separate U6SF Pro review describes testing a 65-inch sample with streaming dramas, films, YouTube and sports highlights. The reviewer lists a Jeti spectroradiometer, Klein colorimeter, Murideo pattern generator, Calman software and Leo Bodnar input-lag tester. That review measured 1,265 nits at a 10% HDR window, Delta-E 1.58 and 9.3 ms input latency for its Hisense sample. These are that publication’s measurements under its test conditions; the more detailed hands-on account is for Hisense, so the figures should not be read as a full, identical review protocol applied to both TVs. The head-to-head comparison and the separate Hisense review explain the basis for the results.

Wall mounting and built-in audio
Tom’s Guide reports a 400 × 300 mm VESA pattern for its 65-inch U6SF Pro sample. Before buying a mount, verify the VESA pattern, the weight limit and the screen-size range for the exact TV size you own; do not assume that the sample’s mount pattern applies to every size.
The same review describes the Hisense’s built-in 2.1-channel, 40-watt audio as capable for casual viewing. A soundbar or surround system is an optional upgrade if you want a more immersive home-theater setup, not a required purchase.

For a buyer focused on HDR brightness, local dimming, sports or 144Hz gaming, the U6SF Pro is the more persuasive choice—provided its current price suits your budget. Its two-point lead in Tom’s Guide’s overall score is narrow, but the measured HDR-brightness gap is substantial in that comparison.
Choose the BRAVIA 3 II if Google TV, a 43- or 50-inch size, or four HDMI 2.1 ports matters more to you than the Hisense’s brighter HDR result. The right pick depends on those practical priorities, not on treating either review score as a universal ranking.
