There is no evidence-based sound-quality winner between the Sonos Beam (Gen 2) and Bose Smart Soundbar 600 in the available official specifications. Choose the Beam if you want Sonos features such as AirPlay 2, Trueplay, Speech Enhancement, and Night Sound. Consider the Bose 600 if its up-firing and side-firing driver design appeals to you—but verify the exact model and current price, because Bose says it was replaced by a newer Smart Soundbar.

Which should I buy?
Choose the Sonos Beam (Gen 2) if its ecosystem and listening features fit your setup
The Beam is the more straightforward choice if you already use Sonos or want its documented combination of AirPlay 2, Trueplay room tuning, Speech Enhancement, and Night Sound. Sonos says Speech Enhancement boosts voice frequencies and clarifies dialogue. Trueplay requires a compatible iOS device, so check that requirement if you plan to use room tuning. Consider the Bose 600 if you want its documented driver layout and Bose features
Bose describes the 600 as having two up-firing and two side-firing transducers, with TrueSpace processing that can process stereo and 5.1 content. Those are design and processing claims, not proof that it sounds better than the Beam. The 600 also supports Bose multi-room, Bluetooth, Chromecast built-in, AirPlay 2, and voice-assistant capabilities. Bose’s 2022 announcement
Do not decide on sound quality from specifications alone
The official product information describes different hardware and processing, but does not establish a controlled head-to-head sound-quality winner. Room acoustics, placement, source material, and personal preference can affect what sounds best to you. Treat descriptions such as up-firing drivers or dialogue enhancement as reasons to investigate a model, not as a comparative test result.

Does the Bose 600 or Sonos Beam have Dolby Atmos?
Both support Dolby Atmos. Atmos playback still depends on having Atmos-enabled content and a compatible connection. Bose specifies HDMI eARC or ARC for Atmos; its owner’s guide describes optical as an alternative when the TV lacks those ports, but not as the Atmos connection. Check your TV’s audio outputs and the streaming device or service you plan to use before buying. Bose Smart Soundbar 600 owner’s guide · Sonos Beam product page
Will either soundbar fit below your TV?
Measure the available width and height, then account for the TV stand, screen feet, and any space needed for cables. The Beam is 25.63 inches wide and 2.68 inches high; its published depth is 3.94 inches. Bose’s 2022 announcement gives the 600 as just over 27 inches long, 2.2 inches high, and 4.1 inches deep. A low soundbar can still be blocked by a stand or screen edge, so compare the full footprint with your actual setup rather than height alone. Sonos product page · Bose launch announcement

What to check before buying the Bose Smart Soundbar 600
The 600 is a previous model: Bose identifies its sales period as 2022–2024 and announced that its newer Smart Soundbar replaced it in September 2024. That does not establish whether a particular retailer has stock, offers a new unit, or provides a particular warranty. Before ordering, confirm the listing says “Smart Soundbar 600,” not the newer “Smart Soundbar,” and check condition, seller, return terms, warranty, and current price. Do not treat the 600’s historical $499 launch price as its present value. Bose support: software and firmware versions · Bose’s September 2024 replacement announcement

How expansion affects the comparison
Bose lists its Bass Module 500 as compatible with the Smart Soundbar 600. If adding a subwoofer matters, compare the combined cost of the soundbar and compatible module, and confirm that the accessory is currently available. Bose launch announcement
