YOYOYO has announced Sonic the Hedgehog Arita Ware “Infinite Blue”, a numbered porcelain collectible limited to 50 pieces worldwide. The announced overseas price is US$7,000 before customs duties, taxes and shipping. As of October 3, 2026, the announced sales dates were still in the future: an online lottery was scheduled for October 9–18, with five pieces also scheduled for sale at an exhibition in Tokyo.
What the $7,000 Sonic figure is
“Infinite Blue” is a Sonic the Hedgehog figure made from Arita porcelain. YOYOYO announced the piece for Sonic’s 35th anniversary and credits SEGA. Each of the 50 planned pieces is to be numbered; the announcement does not say that the edition has already sold or provide a resale valuation. The product specifications, price and sale plan come from the October 2, 2026 announcement by 株式会社マルキュウ via PR TIMES.
It is a display collectible rather than an ordinary mass-market Sonic toy: the announced dimensions are 15.6 cm wide, 22.8 cm deep and 21.3 cm high. The set includes the figure, a base, a certificate and a wooden box.

Price and what it includes

The Japan price is not an all-in price for overseas buyers. The announcement lists intended shipping destinations including Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Singapore, Australia, the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, EU member countries, Switzerland and Norway. Buyers in other locations are asked to inquire in advance; the list does not guarantee eligibility under checkout rules in effect when ordering.

How the figure is made
Porcelain form and firing
The release credits 224porcelain with shaping the work and Li-Sho Kiln (李荘窯) with painting and finishing. It describes the project as combining 224porcelain’s Hizen Yoshida ware tradition with 3D digital technology. According to the maker, refining the digital data and molds and conducting firing tests took approximately eight months. Thin, extended porcelain forms can warp or crack in firing, which the announcement gives as a reason for the repeated refinement.
Blue glaze and decorative motifs
The blue uses gosu (呉須), a traditional cobalt underglaze pigment. The maker says the design incorporates shippo (interlocking circles), seigaiha (waves) and yagasuri (arrow-feather pattern), with red overglaze marking Sonic’s motion trail. The stated meanings and design intent are the maker’s descriptions.

How collectors were scheduled to try to buy one
The release announced two routes, both scheduled to begin October 9, 2026. These are announced dates, not confirmation that either sale opened, remained available or kept its original terms.
Online lottery
- Applications were scheduled through the YOYOYO Official Store from October 9 at 10:00 until October 18 at 23:59 Japan time.
- The announced limit was one entry per person.
- The release estimated made-to-order delivery at up to about ten months after applications close.
Exhibition sale
Five pieces were scheduled for first-come, first-served sale at SONIC the Exhibition -ACROSS GENERATIONS-, at PARCO FACTORY on the seventh floor of Ikebukuro PARCO. The exhibition was announced to run from October 9 through November 1, 2026. The release does not establish whether the five pieces sold or whether the event terms later changed.

How it differs from a typical Sonic collectible
The distinction is the combination of a small numbered run, porcelain craft and a high announced price—not simply the character or the display format. Unlike an ordinary plastic figure, this piece is described as hand-shaped porcelain with underglaze and overglaze decoration, accompanied by a certificate and wooden box. Its 50-piece worldwide edition and lottery/event access also mean collectors should not assume it is broadly available through retail marketplaces.
The maker’s announcement describes Arita ware as a tradition of around 400 years and says one craftsperson can shape one to two pieces per day. That production-rate statement is not a count of finished saleable figures per day; the release does not provide an independently audited production schedule.
