Some Fido stores reportedly matched Koodo’s $40-per-month, 60GB Canada-U.S.-Mexico offer in late November 2025, but the Fido version was a store-specific 4G deal—not a confirmed nationwide promotion. Later plan reports say the $40 offers ended, so shoppers should not expect a store to honor that price today.
What the reported Fido deal included
MobileSyrup reported on December 1, 2025, that some customers in British Columbia and Ontario obtained a Fido BYOD plan for $40 per month with 60GB of data and calling, texting, and data use in Canada, the United States, and Mexico. The report described the Fido plan as 4G. Its comparable Koodo offer was also $40 per month for 60GB with Canada-U.S.-Mexico use, but included 5G access. MobileSyrup’s December 1, 2025 report did not establish a nationwide launch or consistent availability.
Where it was available—and what it cost to activate
The offer was reportedly available through some Fido stores and third-party retail locations in B.C. and Ontario. Availability varied, and the report did not confirm that every store could provide it. It also reported an $80 Fido connection fee. Some customers said they received credits or had the retailer cover the fee, but that was not a universal waiver; anyone offered a similar plan should ask for the activation charge and any credits in writing before signing up.

No later report in the available coverage identifies the 2025 Fido match as an active offer. MobileSyrup reported on April 22, 2026, that the earlier $40/60GB plans had ended. Its snapshot listed Fido at $44 for 60GB of 5G data and $49 for 60GB with Canada-U.S.-Mexico use for 12 months; Koodo was listed at $45 for 60GB of 5G and $50 for 80GB with Canada-U.S.-Mexico use. These were the prices in that dated snapshot, not current guaranteed rates. See MobileSyrup’s April 22, 2026 plan report.
